  1. I'm assuming everything in your house is absolutely massive and the precision bass and Hofner bass on the fireplace are normal size.
  2. Phil Jones gear is outstanding... Phil has spent more time on R&D than I think any cab/amp builder out there. I have a 8×5 cab and it can handle my 10 string bass with all it's highs and lows. Crisp, clean and beautiful sounding cabs. Think MarkBass but more refined, more compact and a little better looking! (And I'm a big advocate of MarkBass!). Been tempted by this rig myself... any queries you can ask Phil directly, he always responds promptly. At close to half price this is probably one of the better rigs out there for sale at the moment.
  3. To my eye your bass is the modified Shuker one... but as has been said the modifications won't impact the value, they will perhaps widen the target audience though! We've all bought things in the past that we didn't know had a 'history', you've just lucked out here as the history of this bass is a top notch mod by one of the better builders out there!
  4. Mother of god... I too own a De Gier Elevation 6. They are superb! Any trades sir? I'd love to own this one!
  5. I find this to be the case with acoustic guitars quote often... I recently bought a Vintage (brand) V300MH acoustic for £20 second hand and it genuinely sounds as good as a USA Martin I owned a year or so ago. A £20 acoustic vs a £1400 acoustic and being honest the £20 was at least as good! Solid mahogany with a fantasticly low action after a little fettling.
  6. Not much to say that hasn't been said! I bought a lovely 12 string Grestch from Tom, so new in fact that the battery in the battery compartment hadn't even yet been shed of its plastic wrap! Tom posted it via 24hr post and it arrived within 24hrs, perfect condition, perfect transaction. Cheers Sir! Russ.
  7. The tone is definitely effected by the height of the strings over the poles of the pickup more so than the action, though with a higher action you can be a bit more brutal with your playing which will again effect the tone, so it's totally about what's good for you! For me, I do a fair amount of tappy stuff so the lower the better.
  8. Just what I was thinking... was trying to work out if it was some kind of CS option but I've never seen anything like that before! @viss1700, can you advise us of this curious neck?
  9. I did achieve an action of 0.2mm on my old warrior 7 string... it's requires a hugely stable and absolutely dead perfect straight neck, but it played superbly. But this was a bit of an extreme, And only really possible because the neck was absolutely dead straight with a fresh fret job.
  10. Any trade options on this one sir?
  11. Very nearly bought this when it was on eBay!
  12. The chances of a free bass still being available a year after the post was put up is slim to none sir!
  13. Such as the following: *******, *****, ******** and of course *******.
  14. To be fair from looking at it there's every chance this thing started life as a child...
  15. Just... what? I mean... unspeakable! Pure comedy and utter horraciousness! (I had to invent that word to describe this "bass"!!) https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F352327758507
  16. You're actually paying £50 for the very nicely made custom scratch plate, the bass it's attached to is just there to hold it steady in transit!
  17. Absolute steal at £50. If I were closer I'd snatch this right up! In fact I might even PM you...
  18. Flattery won't get you a discount... ...unless it does?
  19. I was lucky enough to pick up a Jerzy Drozd 7 string from eBay a while ago, they are excellent instruments with one of the nicest neck profiles I've come across. The pick-ups are superb too.
  20. Just purchased myself a copy of your album sir, I'll be giving that a proper listen over the coming days. This is an incredible bass and Jesus is a great seller too.
  21. A lovely beast indeed, closest thing to an AJ6 I've seen that's not... well, an AJ6!
  22. Wrong sir! They are both in fact real guitars! There is an Andertons YouTube video featuring both of these being played and explaining the sale of them for charity. They exist!!!
  23. Is it a gag? Looks legit to me! Well, they looks like real guitars (made by Andertons Skunkworks as the auction says). Being sold by Andertons eBay handle too... reckon they had these made to sell for charity.
