Bass case

Got a message back from him when I told him of his 'errors'... it basically said that he was selling the guitar for a friend that had passed away and didn't know anything about it, also claimed it had no makers mark despite it clearly saying Encore on the headstock! The man is more full of dump than Trump.

My pianus was violated by a sexaphone once... I had a 13 string bass a while ago (a Jon Letts build), took the pee out of myself everyday for it. Still got the jars of urine to prove it. -

Looks like Chris Cardone to me, with an 8 string triplet Prat bass. I think... Gasping for a 10 string triplet version, buckeye top of course. As I recall Kalium made the strings for this beast... riddled with jealousy! Things like this should be mine... No denying the man has a powerful Tasche... -

@PawelG Can sir tell us one of these jokes? (Awful I know). My best friend was diagnosed with Mioclonic (I think) Lukemia 8 or so years ago, he was only 20 at the time. Knocked us all back, but we still had a laugh at it because it makes him and us feel like it's all just part of our regular bants. We called him Skywalker for a good long while... Some wouldn't deal with it that way, we did. Made us all more comfortable and help raise morale in our dark way. He's been in remission for the last 4 years, a few hiccups here and there but he's doing good. It's a dangerous topic, so to affirm there is no genuine offense meant by any dark/possible inappropriate humour that comes forth from my mouth. I am but a simple man who finds humour in many things for good or for ill. -
Reported it. The guy is a fraudster, always selling budget guitars and listing them as Fender or some such just because there is a sticker of some sort on it in a vein bid to claim he didn't know any better. Absolutle Ernie Bell end indeed.

A real friend would just say "what the hell is with that shirt, it's stupid and so are you... now buy me a beer before I burn that shirt while you're still wearing it.' -

You could say the same for certain players and their use of a 4 string bass! It is a bass, it operates on the same principles in every fashion, just with a few more strings. Same build techniques, scales, spacings, pre-amps, strings (with a few more either side), tunings etc. ERBs have far more in common with a standard bass than they do any other instrument as they are basses! It's like saying an 64 key keyboard isn't the same instrument as an 88 key keyboard... they are both keyboards, one just has more range. -

Damn straight sir! I very much agree with that... there is a line between jest/bants and truly hurtful words, I don't see any of the latter here and VERY rarely have even seen the latter anywhere on Basschat! We are all equally terrible people! -

Here's 4 of mine, and while beauty is of course subjective, I love the look of them, they are playable art to me, the woods used and sheer quality of work are simply stunning, they all play unbelievably well with low action and comfortable necks, and they are absolutely not for everyone, but most people who can't get their head round them, who have played them, understand instantly after 5 minutes of playing! For me, they're perfect, for you maybe not. For each their own lest us all be assigned a number and wear only beige! -
Seeing as we are both clearly unarmed it would be a fair bout! And yes, it was clearly an attack, I attacked you like the unstealthy ninja I clearly am.

Frank, agreed. Offered this and got politely declined. Offer is however standing. Glasses up sirs!

To add... This thread became the product of people's personal history and for that I'm sorry! But hey, when sh*t gets deep, put on the waders!

Yeah, join the club Karl. Some of us don't let it turn us into judgemental people though. (For greater clarity I messaged Karl privately to quash this 'debate' and was swiftly rejected). I learnt and grew from my issues and don't act vindictively against others because of it. Hence my adversity to being called a bully for things that are as light hearted as can be. Lets all just have that damn beer already!!!

@karlfer enough mate, pots been stirred, let's let it lie. Back to business as usual.

The comment about 'generation snowflake' is completely genuine, in my mind it is absolutely true. Unfortunately/fortunately for me my skin is fairly thick, most likely from various life experiences... Nothing that was said by me was intended as hurtful, spiteful or otherwise, however I do find it unnerving that such low key 'banter' can cause such a backlash of finger pointing and claims of bullying. I wonder how some would actually handled sustained and real bullying? And let me tell you unequivocally, this sir, is not that. I will bow out from further comment as I feel all that needs to be said is said. @Dov65 if I offended in anyway, then I apologise. But from where I stand nothing of the sort occurred. Good evening gents. Let's have a beer and shake hands!
