  1. I've put it back in it's natural habitat for you...
  2. Genuinely one of my favourite clips from The Simpsons ever! That and when Bart and Homer try to catch a rabbit in the woods and end up catapulting it clear into the horizon! Proper chuckle at that one! I was actually born on the day The Simpsons was first aired on the Tracey Ullman show a shade over 31 years ago! And... my 10 string has a 'tribute' to that inlayed on the fretboard. May I present Binky:
  3. I've spent years in therapy trying to overcome personal setbacks caused by my yellow skin and untamable hair... Some people just don't realise how deeply their words would!
  4. It really isn't that heavy, lighter than my fretted 1979 Roadster. No plans to sell it on! Very happy with it and fully intend to keep this for a good while! It's a great bass, just needed a little TLC to get it to a good playing standard!
  5. So recently a fellow basschatter sold me a 1981 Ibanez Roadster fretless, the price was very fair and I was made fully aware of the issues it came with (albeit exaggerated as it really wasn't all that bad!). I said I'd post a few pictures once done, so here they are! The Bass didn't actually need a huge amount of work, and I had initially intended to re-finish it with a natural stain of some variety, however as I already own a naturally worn black 1979 Ibanez Roadster fretted I've decided (for now!) to leave the finish as is in its black, well used, glory. The truss rod needed freeing, after a spray with WD40 and leaving it to permeate for a few days the rod is now free enough for adjustment, however the neck is beautifully straight as is. The jack input has now been relocated correctly to the side of the bass instead of the front as it was previously and the whole that was left has now been filled with a tone pot so the bass is now V/V/T/T as it should be. A new truss cover has been fitted (couldn't find a brass 'Roadster' one so a nice black one sits there instead). I found a couple of similar knobs as per an original Roadster and after a full set up and polish the bass is now fully functional and plays great! The cost of the parts you ask? Under a fiver. The time it took you ask? About 2 hours. All in, it's now a beautifully playing, mostly original (bar truss cover) 1981 Ibanez Roadster fretless! Very happy indeed, though I was expecting a slightly longer project so now I'll need to find something to take up my spare time! Russ.
  6. This is my old bass and it's a superb instrument! The top is one of the nicest I've seen on an MTD.
  7. Purchased a 1981 Ibanez Roadster fretless from Emmett, he sent it out straight away and it arrived very well packed! A very happy new owner here! Thanks Emmett! Deal with confidence with Emmett, 10/10. Russ.
  8. Hi, I'm selling this fantastic, and pretty much brand new, Fusion Gig Bag for an acoustic or oversized bass. These retail at just under £150 (give it a Google!) and this is very near new with the most minor of usage marks. Still has the plastic covers on the zips and the label in the zip pocket! As you can see it fits my Warwick Alien 6 very nicely. Loads of pockets too! I'm asking £50 and am absolutely fixed on that price as it is 3 times that new and has almost no visible signs of use! I'm happy to post but due to size it will be a good £10 to post it. So £50 collected from Basildon in Essex or £60 posted. Cheers, Russ.
  9. Very much looking forward to giving this a home along-side my 79 fretted Roadster. Looking to restore it myself so I'll post a thread once I get started. I've got a bit of a long-standing love affair with old Ibanez so this is really a project I'm looking forward to!
  10. These are actually surprising good guitars, at least on par with a decent Epi!
  11. You should be made to fight yourself to death as punishment for these kind of 'custom' paint jobs.
  12. Hi all, So I did have most of this listed separately, but I want the space and so will be listing everything as one package all neatly housed in a big Stanley Tool Chest. In the chest you will find: 37 Patch Cables 14 various length jack cables (I think 2 or 3 need re-soldering) 16 Straps (some leather, most generic, some quirky!) 3 tuners (two clip on ones) (Stuff on sofa is not included!! I'm also keeping the wall mounted tuner, everything else is included) A few other bits including pedal power patch leads, tuition DVD, massive chord book and what ever else I find that I don't need/want. I'm asking £50 for everything, collected from Basildon, Essex. You're welcome to test everything before you leave if you want! Cheers, Russ.
  13. Afternoon, I'm selling one of my signed Jim Marshall posters, I have another 3 of these (two made out to me which won't be sold!). I met Jim in 2003, 2004 and 2005 at the London Guitar Show where I was lucky enough to get these signed. It was a strictly 1 per customer type deal but I managed to get two signed in 2003. As we know Jim passed in 2012 so anything signed is of limited availability. I'm asking £50 for this which I think is very fair, it's framed well and will be a great piece for any music room. The poster itself has a little damage in the bottom right corner as it was stored unframed and I have recently had it framed, but nothing that detracts from it aesthetically. If you want it posted I would expect that to be £10 or so as I'd want to send it very well packaged as it is glass mounted. I don't have a COA but I can assure you it is legitimate as I was present in Jim's company when it was signed. Collection from Basildon, Essex is preferred. Thanks, Russ.
  14. Evening, I've got a spare 5 power patch leads to power pedals from a power brick, asking £5 for the lot plus £1 postage. Collection from Basildon, Essex. Cheers, Russ.
  15. Evening all, As the title says, I have 9 Jack Leads I need rid of. 2 are very long (20ft-ish) 2 are usual jack length and 5 are fairly short. All work fine! I'm after £18 collected of £23 posted as they're fairly weighty. Collections from Basildon, Essex. Cheers, Russ.
  16. Evening, A few more things to clear out... Selling my very thick chord book! And a never used Finger Style Tuition DVD. £10 for the pair posted, get learning!! Based in Basildon, Essex if you want to collect. Cheers, Russ.
  17. Evening, Up for sale is my unused never opened Korg PitchHawk G clip on tuner. Never take it out of the box, it's all in its original packing and untouched! I'll also chuck in another clip on tuner for free, this is a cheaper one and I don't know if it works (very much assume it does) as the battery is long dead. £10 for the Korg with a free second one! Cheers, Russ.
  18. Evening, Still clearing out bits! This is a very handy Planet Waves ChordMaster, it's basically a pocket chord bible that shows on the screen any conceivable chord you can imagine! Very handy for learning. £10 including postage or collection from Basildon, Essex. Cheers, Russ.
  19. Afternoon, Selling my surplus to requirements Korg Pocket Tuner. Needs some batteries but I have tested it and it works perfectly. It works as a normal tuner and you can also run a jack lead into it for direct tuning. £5 collected from Basildon, Essex. (£2 on top for postage). Cheers, Russ.
  20. Evening, I'm selling a chunk of gear I no longer need, so here is my trusty gear chest! It's a Stanley ProMobile Tool Chest. These are £40 new, I'm asking £20 (it's missing the little plastic top compartment on the lid). It has a good set of wheels and a lully handle as well as a top handle and a tray on the inside. I'm in Basildon, Essex. I can post if you want but it'll be at least £10 so might not be worth it! £20 on collection and all your spare bits will be tidy forever! Cheers, Russ.
