  1. Have that bass fretted and sent to my chambers... I must ask, what does Byl mean?
  2. They are Q-tuner pickups I believe... That's how they come. I had a pair of these in a 6 string concept bass I had a while ago... quite excellent as memory recalls! But I agree that maybe wood covers would suit better, but then I am a man who likes a good woody pickup cover!
  3. A total steal for a De Gier. I will never part ways with my Elevation 6. Top basses these.
  4. No, no... no. Err, no. Oh, and... no. No.
  5. The headstock looks like it's been run over by a truck... proper Looney Tunes style flat!
  6. Good god that's... well... awful! Me no likey..
  7. Seems pretty cheap to me. https://www.gumtree.com/p/for-sale/musicman-stingray/1286914220
  8. I've seen a few other basses that this chap is selling... All have fairly unrealistic prices, but hey, there's a sucker born every minute as they say!
  9. Hi all, Full Rig - £1000 Head/Case/Midi Footswitch/Cables - £600 PJB 8b Neo Cab - £450 I've seen an amp that's given me powerful GAS, as such this fantastic, versatile, powerful and compact rig might need to go! The head is a MarkBass Multiamp Mono (Italian made) with the midi Footswitch, it also has a proper MarkBass carry bag and all the required cables for the head and pedal plus a speakon for the cab. The head was £959 when new, the pedal is £275 on GAK and the carry bag was £60ish. So circa £1300 new for the head and accompanying bits. The cab is a PJB 8b Neo 400w cab with caster wheels, cover and collapsible handle, I seem to remember these retailed at a shade under £900. The 8x5 speaker configuration with the vented cab make this speaker about as lightweight and powerful as can be, it's an amazing cab with excellent clarity in a very maneoverable package. I'm after £1000 for the lot, the head, cab, case, pedal, cables and cover. Given new it would set you back in excess of £2200 I think it's priced fairly. All bits are in absolutely excellent condition and working flawlessly. I may split if there's a buyer for each, but it'd be a shame as this rig makes for a hugely versatile and compact package, delivering volume and tone in spades. The Multiamp has a HUGE raft of tones and effects, all programmable and accessible via the Footswitch, a myriad of amp and cab tones as well as tonnes of effects from distortion to synth, reverb to delay. They can be used singularly or layered up to 8 at a time. I doubt there's another rig that can really match this for versatility! Any questions, please ask! (Based in Essex). Better pictures to follow!! Russ.
  10. Surely using www.anyvan.com makes the good deal that this is moot? The cheapest I can see from Cumbria to Essex is £108 and that's for a 'flexible' date, I.E. they collect it when they're already in the area. A specific date is £160+. Totally prices me WAAAAAAY out!
  11. Nice 'liitle' trace stack here... if it all works well it' a bit of a bargain! And a rare power amp to boot. https://www.gumtree.com/p/for-sale/classic-trace-elliot-bass-stack/1285063183
  12. I imagine it would! Let's make a pact... if I win the lottery I'll buy us both our dream basses, if you win then the basses are on you!
  13. At the moment I can't justify a £15,000 outlay, but there is no other bass that I have my sights on than this particular custom SC7. There just isn't a suitable alternative to what I want!
  14. I already have a 9 string ACG, to be honest I don't it's possible to build a better ACG than the one I have so I'm covered on the ACG front! It is indeed very specifically a Warwick SC7 I want...
  15. I've not had any issues with contact, had a nice back and forth with Hans P Wilfer, always seems to respond within a few hours. The quote came back from their build master at the custom shop... I died a little when I read the number... €16,093. (£15,000ish) Either I need to sell the vaste majority of my collection (which would of been the idea) or my requested spec needs a re-think! It would be a truly outstanding and totally unique instrument if built...
  16. Which of course makes a single string worth £250 odd.
  17. They did have the option of 'buy 3 and get 5% off the 4th', that changes everything!
  18. Bargain... https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F132287421259
  19. Morning all, I'm debating placing and order with Warwick's Custom Shop, has anyone on here ordered a bass directly though Warwick's custom shop? I've had a bit of experiance with Warwick and they always seem very helpful and quick to respond, just interested to know if anyone has had a bass made for them through their custom shop and how they felt the process went. Feel free to share a picture of the bass you ordered too! If it's of interest my order would be for a 7 string Single Cut Thumb with a few extra bells and whistles and some quite fancy exotic woods (got a small handful in mind!). Ta, Russ.
  20. To throw my hat in the ring I would say £800 is overpriced... GAK tend to (again in my opinion) overprice all of their second hand stock. For comparision I just picked up a 2001 German made 6 string bolt on Thumb bass for £860, you would be best having a hunt on the second hand market where you are buying direct from the previous owner and not a shop as a shop will always take a 20% (give or take) cut so you are paying at least that much more. Negotiating with the actual seller is always a better option!
  21. I shouldn't... but... I really like this! Are you open to trades sir?
  22. After a discussion with the seller I would agree with Tony. The seller says The Bass Gallery set it up, which at least resulted in the bridge being levelled, but I think this is not one for the pros. If it was advertised for £200-300 I might take a punt but for me £550 is too much.
