1. I also use a MarkBass head with a Barefaced S12 and leave the eq knobs at noon and the filters mostly off. As others have said, I doubt that is truly flat: instead, it's the signature sound of the amp & I like it. I also appreciate the lack of fiddling involved in getting a good sound.

3. Sounds cool Clarky. I will try & be there.
4. I thought it was a decent bit of kit but it didn't suit all my basses. My MarkBass amps do so I sold the GB. No regrets.
5. Kev, I'd be tempted to send it back. Having read your post, I plugged mine in, switched on and there was very little hiss even with the master on full, quiet enough to be a non-issue at a gig. These are great little combos as everyone above attests so, if you can sort this, it'll give you many years of trouble-free pleasure based on my experience.
6. l had said I wasn't going, too much noise, not enough stuff I want to see, nothing much I need etc. Now in the queue for Paul Turner........
7. I'm also going to one of the Scala dates - can't wait!
8.
That's usually my experience but I knew this one: Mars Volta, Pink, Moby and her father was Kim Gardner of The Birds, The Creation, and Ashton, Gardner & Dyke etc.
Hmm,I seem to be too old to have heard of Eva and too young to have heard of Kim. Who else am I missing out on? Anyway, as you were.
9. Not what I expected her signature axe to look like.......it looks like it would be good for metal! Uncle P, you are welcome to try my Reverend Rumblefish if you are ever down my way.
10. Hi Minty, As I said in the OP, it's an older model. It therefore does not appear on the MB website. Whilst I'm here.........price drop to £275
11. Great stuff, really enjoyable. I hope 2014 is even better for you & the band.
12. A textbook sale has recently completed. Clear comms, prompt payment and a nice guy. You can deal with BF10 with confidence.
13. Pre EBay bump.
14. PM reply sent.
15. Tobie Not sure where you are based but I would recommend a visit to a good specialist bass shop where you can try some of these out. Bass Direct in Warwick, Bass Gear in Twyford & The Bass Gallery in North London are all worth a visit. If you don't live near one of these, no doubt someone else on here can recommend an alternative. Personally, I use the same MarkBass 1x12 combo as Lozz with a 5 string & it handles it fine. I add a 1x12 cab for medium sized gigs and it's even better. If you go through the PA at larger venues, the combo alone will probably be enough as only you will be listening to it.
16. Last but one bump before E bay.
17. I'm a satisfied customer too. I'd rather have Mark's opinion, even if I don't always agree with it, than someone who didn't know the real world of bass playing.
18. To the top!

Merton

I bought Merton's Barefaced Super 12 and what's said above is all true. Not only was it a smooth and easy transaction with prompt & clear comms, he even delivered it to me. He's an all-round good egg.
20. I bought these from BC'er danengland back in November and they remain in the envelope they arrived in. Due to a change of plans, I no longer need them so I'm placing them back on the market for less than I paid for them. £45 including delivery and they are yours. Here's a link to Dan's original post which includes a picture and a helpful tip from Clarky involving toothpaste: http://basschat.co.u...g-set-for-sale/
21. PM sent to you Carl.
