Yes, me too. I have a 34” scale Sigma ABG and have the same issue of being 2 frets sharp if I’m not concentrating. The answer for me has just been practice and regular use at our weekly village guitar club where I back local singer - songwriters. I’m usually doing a mixture of playing by ear and watching their hands as I don’t know the songs so it takes my mind off focussing on myself and I’ve just got used to it over time. I doubt a short scale would give me the tone & volume I need acoustically.

I’m late to this but have just stumbled across the SP1 5 string on Bass Direct’s website so I’m looking forward to playing one. I also need a light bass - just under 9lbs ideally - but this is ticking a lot of boxes for me.

Show us your rig of choice for the weekend ** Basschat edition**
PTB replied to bassace97's topic in Amps and Cabs
I’m playing at The Diamond in Sutton-in-Ashfield last night and this afternoon with Fleetwood Mad. This is the simplest of rigs - a Bitsa P Bass with an EMG pick-up, an EBS Micro Bass 3 and KZ ZAR IEMs. The bass is a collection of bits bought on here plus a new AllParts neck after the previous neck developed a bump at frets 4 & 5. It’s my first outing with the EBS which combines tuner, compressor, pre-amp/eq and DI into one compact but sturdy unit. I’m loving the ease of it all and I’m told it sounds great out front. -
Danny bought a bass uke from me in a textbook transaction. Clear and prompt comms throughout and quick payment. Recommended!

This lovely instrument belongs to my dear friend Joyce who I know from our village guitar club. She has it listed elsewhere and has asked me to offer it up to BC’ers. Joyce bought it less than a year ago and enjoyed some lessons on it but has decided to focus on playing her tenor uke going forwards as it’s easier on her hands. Joyce tells me that the Kala is in very good nick, comes with the Kala soft case and has Aquila Thunderblack strings (model 70/c). It cost her £399 new. I will arrange shipping (note there’s no hard case!) at the buyer’s cost or a meet-up to hand it over and you can see I have a decent track record of feedback on here.

Just bought a Mac from George in a textbook transaction. All consistent with the great feedback above. Thanks George👍

I’m listening to my wife rubbing rosin on her violin bow whilst Ruby Schnauzer snores gently in the background. 😎🎻🐶💤

I bought a book off Mickey. It was a textbook deal and I can only echo what others have said - he’s a top BC’er to do business with.

Thanks - we seem well & truly bonded at present but I guess you never know….

I collected a Nash P bass from @Skin Lewis yesterday lunchtime and thought I’d play it for the first set at yesterday’s gig in Bath. It sounded so good, I carried on til the end and my main bass became my spare. I can’t be the only one to get a new bass and gig it immediately surely?
