1. Nah, as far as I'm aware there's only a couple of R-400's and a Red Fighter in the UK. No cabs or combos.
2. Another couple of pics of the WB-100 have just been posted to FB...
3. I've never seen a deluxe without 'Precision Bass' on the headstock, with the logo that close to the edge..? Apart from that, it seems legit.
4. As an aside, MM's playing on Jean Michel Jarre's Zoolook LP is one of the things that got me into bass playing as a young lad. He gets around, that lad.
5. Hot off the press, here's another: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=korYVsdP_Zg
6.
He's a Geordie - Maruszczyk was probably the word he got closest to the correct pronunciation in the whole piece!!
HOWMANYASARKYBOLLIX! :-D
7.
Re the PJ basses. Yet another example of "oh you want a J bridge pickup? Well you must like skinny jazz necks then". How about having a P neck on one as standard. I think having a PJ Jazz bass with the J neck and a PJ Pbass with a P neck would be great. Should be standard.
This assumption drove me nuts, too. It was was part of what pushed me to another brand.
8.
Good work. A lot harder than it looks to speak so well for over 10 minutes!
It didn't feel anything like 10 minutes when I made it. If I were to take out the bits where I repeat myself, it'd probably be 2 minutes long. :-)
9.
The sound in the video brings out the character of the basses very nicely - how did you record this? Using a mic or direct via DI?
Cheers! It's all from the same source - a camera-mounted Rode Videomic Pro.
10.
P.S. I should clarify the comment "very to the point demoing" I mean you're keeping it focused while remaining fairly casual/natural on camera. Good work. Got to say the 'burst pickups are more my thing - they sound glorious. Here's a link to what I think they might be: These From Here
Thank you! I've not done anything to camera before. I just concentrated on not talking at my usual breakneck speed. :-)
Good god. I didn't need to see that, I really didn't. The blue/green one is absolutely stunning. Just gimme one of those with the same specs as the sunburst and I'm done with GAS. Honestly.
That's what I thought when I got my first one. But it opened the floodgates. I'd buy another if I had the cash, even though I don't need one...
Great video. Really loved the tone of the LPB one, what flats do you use?
Cheers! They're GHS Precision Flats - basically, the same as Lakland-branded strings.
11. Thanks, everyone.
Nice vlog! The pronuncination is almost correct
Ha! I'm willing to be corrected - where am I going wrong? :-)
12. Hey gang I thought I'd dip my toe into the murky world of being a YouTube (whatever that means). Here's my first attempt of an occasional series - a review of my Maruszczyk Jakes. (YouTube's being a bit funny at the mo, and I'm not sure the embedded video below will display. If not, here's the link) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jq64dgNIrD8
13. Ah - just done a bit of digging and there's a suggestion that embedding via <object> has been switched off... iframe needs to be used instead. Seems a bit severe if true..
14. I spoke to soon.. it's happening to me now, too...!
15. I tell you what, though... what a great tune!
16. Hmm... vids aren't displaying properly. Here's the link.
17. Here's a video review I've made of my two. Apologies - I forgot to put my posh phone voice on, but hopefully you can all understand me :-D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jq64dgNIrD8
18.
I doubt he went near a wolf. It looks like a photoshop job to me.
Howwwwwwwwl
19. I've had two of these (Don't ask). Lovely things that don't have the whiff of 'mass produced' about them that you get with Fender and even the CS models these days. Enjoy it.
20. I've had good results with the Scarlett. It's a bit keen to clip so I have to keep an eye on it, but it works fine for my needs..
21. I haven't read the thread, but I love the tune. It's a great jazz anthem, and no-one cares if the bass part is shabby.
22. Nice to see a couple of new suggestions here - the usual suspects have been done to death on FB etc. Here's my nomination, released only last year: LOLz
23. You'll be back 😉
24. There wasn't enough going on above the boom - in the low-mids - for me. It felt all top-and-bottom. IME, obv.
