1.
If it works its way north via Warwick I'll give her a warm welcome!

If it makes its way further south I'll give it a temporary home!
I'll keep you both in mind - ta!
2. I loved The Soul Cages. Great album with fab songs and lyrics. I stayed with him in varying degrees for Ten Summoner's Tales and Mercury Falling, but Brand New Day lost me. Dull tunes peppered with pointless blippy blop noises. There were some good tunes on The Last Ship, mind.
3. I have no problems with artists giving it a bit of politics at gigs, as long as it doesn't forgo the music.
4. I had a single 1126 for a little while, and was able to A/B it with the S112. The 1126 definitely sounded bigger, with more headroom, but it was much wider-sounding - not a particularly good match for the big-booty'd MESA Walkabout I was using at the time. The S112 'speaks' more, and was (and still is) more suited to my tastes.
5. Hey gang The Red Fighter head is currently down in Berkshire (Bracknell / Farnborough-ish) - would anyone local to there like to babysit it for a bit, just for fun? Let me know if you do...
6. Bought a brand-new MESA M-Pulse. Didn't like it. Sold it. Cried all the way to the bank.
7.
i don't think so Michael
Oh, OK - I wasn't sure how to respond as it didn't seem relevant..! No successful musician is going to be whiter-than-white. They'll all have enjoyed spending their money at some point. Also - Sting has a family, and friends. It's not jut one bloke travelling with a (man in a a) suitcase. I doubt many of the houses are empty.
8.
who gives a
Was that aimed at me..?
9.
As long as he is not acting or talking about world conservation issues ( a joke when he owns so much property round the world - one property should suffice),
He can have as many houses as he likes, surely? He probably employs a load of people to look after 'em, too.
10. If you're unsure as to whether you need a Precision, I've made this handy flowchart to help. You're welcome.
11. I've played a couple of the Butlins weekenders at the big hall in Skeggy and they've been fab - great audiences who are there for the music, and well run. I've also had the misfortune to do a few holiday camp gigs at Skeggy and beyond. Good fun until the 'WTaF?' novelty wears off.
12.
Location?
Hull, according to his account info.
13.
Hi , I must say that as far as I heard its not possible. I heard from another Retailer who was eventually gonna have his brand that it was flat out refused when he asked.
In my mind I was thinking of the shop, rather than the Factory. That would be a nice enough visit..
14. Nice to hear Jonathan King getting a nice welcome. Actually, I'm now having flashbacks to Jimmy Saville making an appearance at Knebworth in '92. *shudder*
15.
OK then, who would be up for a UK M-Club factory visit in Spring '17? Perhaps based on cheap flights to a nearby airport (assuming there is one) and local B&B-type accommodation with at least a full day available in the factory. If there's a demand for a group of, say, 6-8 of us, I'll run this by Adrian, get some prices, and do the organising. Do you think Adrian would be OK with this pierreganseman?
Aye.. tempting!
16.
Does the 1980 show exist in a cleaned-up official version? I've got a bootleg of it, not sure which version. It sounds ok but if there's a better one around I wouldn't mind hearing it.
There's an edit of it on the Duke DVD...
17. These have slipped under my radar. I'm intrigued...
18. IMO they should have died out in 1994 along with MTV Unplugged, which is pretty much why they exist in the first place...
19. A pair of TKS S112s, or the S212 I use now, it more than enough for me, with or without PA support. I can't comment on the other cabs, 'cos I haven't tried them, but the TKS sound more wonderful than any cabs I'd had up to this point. And that's a lot.
20.
I know the band weren't keen on it seeing the light of day, but it's been nearly 35 years since the gig for goodness sake. Who is going to bothered now?
They've got long memories. Ask Virgil.
21. Just playing devils advocate... what's the reason for going down the acoustic route? Is it just cosmetic reasons? Most of them (IMO) sound like bad electrics...
22.
In one case the client wanted a Dave Matthews type vibe, so out come the headphones and an hour listening to best ofs etc in the morning, quick page of notes on what type of rhythms are used, any harmonic tricks employed, anything of note really and I've got a concrete go to rather than scrambling around in the dark, learning the tunes note for note and hoping something goes in by osmosis.
Absolutely... I'd do something similar, but without the writing it down bit.
23. Thanks for sharing. As for the outcome, I'm saying nothing ;-)
24. Ha ha.. this is hilarious. "Eeeh... I can't wait. I'm so excited. I was out buying new strings and a stand for it yesterday." "When's yours due? Have you had your 10-week sofa shot yet? Haussels or Delanos? Or are you just happy with whatever you get?" "Jimmy in Norwich's is due any day.. it's a couple of days late, but they reckon that's normal for this time of year. I can't wait to see it!"
