1. Here's a couple of tunes from a gig I recorded on Friday night, using a couple of Zooms - a Q4n and an Q2. The audio mainly the Q2 (purely down to placement) with a bit of Q4n mixed in for ambience. These are such good recorders - I wish the Q2n was 4K so I could crop at HD, but apart from that they're great for the money. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iV0BE2vSbnk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zLYbUy2ktLY
2. Got a three-gig weekend with three different bands. Here's a clip from last night... such solid low-mids :-) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iV0BE2vSbnk
3.
i agree , however that's his version of it
Yep - that's why I went with Green Valley Metallic for my 'LPB'.
4. I saw the thread title and expected to see this:

6. What's the KK like in a non-salsa situation? All the decent clips I've seen seem to fall into that bracket.
7.
I know Howard reasonably well and see him now and then. Whenever one of these threads comes up some people drag up old stuff from a couple of years ago when Howard was having a bad time.
You never know, it might not happen this ti..... d'oh!
8. Here he is. Give me a holler if you need his phone number. I'm not sure what Conan is referring to. I'm intrigued...?
9. Dunno if he's on here much, but if you're on FB you can get him there.
10.
there are a few on ebay but mainly in germany but there is one in devon http://www.ebay.co.u...ioAAOSwSypZAIee
That's the newer version - it's quite a different beast to the original, unfortunately.
11. Once again I find myself scratching my head as to why Ibanez discontinued the Promethean. Such a versatile thing.
12. My Maruszczyk Jakes look just like posh Precisions, and weigh in at about 7.2lbs each.
13. Did you do a search? There's a great big thread on them here.
14.
Oh dear, the Public Peace website is set to get a whole lot more dangerous
Oh, FFS. I'm going to have to ask Virgin Media to block it.
15. Interesting, thank you. Do you think there could be any significant difference in the application of tubes in the pre of - say, the Walkabout or R-400 - to the likes of the Streamliner, etc.?
16. I was under the impression that It was pretty much any AB / Class D head with a tube pre. I'm not saying I'm right, because I suspect you know different. What's the facts?
17. This was my impression of most starved plate applications - it was a marketing exercise. But maybe that's not the case?
18.
In before someone suggests Maruszczyk
Me too! Maruszczyk. Drat. I beat myself to it.
19.
https://youtu.be/Hu0u0XvvWu0 Saw these guys in bass guitar magazine. Neo medieval folk band from Ukraine who have a drummer and three bass players but the drummer sometimes plays bass too! Amazing what can be done with only basses.
If David Brent formed a folk band, it would sound like this.
20.
Not heard of half of the acts on the bill
Which means you have heard of 50+ of them. Not a bad line-up for you, eh?
21. Just listen to any of Adam Clayton's lines. He pretty much channels J.S. Bach.
22. I've been playing for about 30 years myself, and this is first amp I've had that sounds exactly like I want my amp to sound like... and still makes me smile a year later. It's taken a while to get to this point!
23. Absolutely - it sounds bloody great, though 🙂
24. Yep, it sounds like a great combo (pun half-intended), Just drop him a mail at [email protected] - he's very helpful. (Just to clear up any confusion from other posts - I'm not a representative of the company. I'm just a happy customer..!)
25. I think that's probably a question for the chap who built the amp...?
