1.
whoary old cliche
I sir, shall be using that phrase this weekend. Many thanks ;-)
2. Personally I think the xfactor is a legitimate way to success. However, it does come with massive risks as the media frenzy is brutal and some people can't handle the immediate rise to fame. I suspect there is more than a hint of jealosy (and there is nothing wrong with a bit of jealosy in my book) that these people have become without "earning their strypes". Still we are bringing metal to Bordon in Hampshire on Saturday which makes me happy. Would I swap it for fame and money......YEs ;-)
3.
Hmm. That's quite a specialised list. Do you do many pub gigs?
Tis specialised, we do pick our pubs wisely and have played a few wrong ones. We did used to do standard stuff but didnt really enjoy it. We have a good amount of gigs and some very loyal fans, but we do have a gig on black friday (dec 21st) at a middle of the road pub and are a little nervous about it kicking off ;-)

5. Have finished it. Not bad, but not as good as I was hoping for. I will PM Owen for his address. Next on list are: Mancunianfox Binky bass Alycts Protium
6. I have it and have started reading it. Many thnaks for passing it on. Will send it on to next on list when I have finished. Ta Mike
7. I play in a metal covers band and use A for Korn and Slipknot. sometimes use the E to D for Killswitch Engage. Nice to have it there when you need it. I am seriously considering a thumpinator thought to keep those low notes as clear as possible. It does get dirty down there some times.
8. I could use 1 if it is available. Are there any still going?
9. I'm interested if you can get it to the south coast ;-) Happy to travel anywhere between Southampton - Brighton - M25 if anyone is going that way????
10. For anyone that cares. It was an ASIO issue. Something had become unplugged. Got things working again by going to options - devices, changing the ASIO device from desk to one of the other options got the time going again, which then confirmed it was the desk. Quick check problem solved.
11. Yep, I'm still stupid. On a previous recorded trakc On the time line it says 1.1.00. I press play and it goes to -2.1.00 but doesn't play. What am I doing wrong????? Ta Mike
12. This one time in band camp....... We were playing Davidian by Machine Head and in the heat of the moment the drummer accidentally spat his £200 false tooth over the drum kit in to the singers area. He spent the rest of the song praying the singer didn't tread on it, which he didn't and then had to retrieve it after the tune.
13. [sub]This is a tricky one. My head says It could be viewed that if four people wanted to start a band from scratch, each musician would have to pay for their own indstrument and amp. Why should the singer not have an initial investment as well. If other musicians run through it then the band should pay for any maintenance from gig money. If anything goes down whilst the duo are using it then they should pay for it. My heart says we are in this together and need to move forward. I think our band has an unwritten rule of you get £100 as a leaving payment the gear stays with the band.[/sub]
14. I suspect this is a lost leader to make us all angry and then they will say "ok we won't do it then" and we will all feel better whilst they sneak something else in whilst we are talking about this.
15. I wonder if there is any mileage in going down nostalgia alley with the singer. As in "do you remember the good times when we used to...." or the trip that...." "we don't seem to do that any more, they were great times" and see where that goes. If you make the cracks sometimes they propagate.
16. Brilliant, gave me a cheeky smile at work
17. I play in a couple of pub bands. One is happy being average the others strives for perfection. I enjoy gigging with both but one is a jolly and the other is much more aspirational. It is unlikely you will get people to change, so I would recommend the softly softly approach. Good luck ;-)

VST Help

Ah, I may not have unzipped it. Will be on the music on Sunday so will report back then!
19. On topic sort of but a bit to the left. Can anyone tell me how / if you can add your own bass drum to EZD and if so does anyone have a link to one that is a good warm dance drum sound (thinking David Guetta) Thanks Mike
20. Thanks Dood, easier to pick up one of these than get it to Brighton and back, plus I bought it second hand so Alex has yet to directly have any of my cash yet. Please note the word yet ;-)
21. Hadn't thought of that ;-) How cheeky can I be?
22. hi Gang I have carpet coming off my Mk 1 Barefaced compact. Is there any particular glue / method anyone would recommend to replace it? Thanks Mike
23. We have not played there for a few years but were famous for being the loudest band that ever played there ;-) not best, just loudest ;-) A sad loss, as is the White Horse in Bognor.
24. Got the strings, look great and sound great too. Lovely jubbly and many thanks
