  1. I was thinking of that as it could be interesting. I have got a VST drum thingy free from computer music. How do I put it in Reapers VST files when there aren't any??? Ta in advance,
  2. I presume you could swap one for another once you have the midi track down?
  3. Drumcore free is going to take 6hrs to download
  4. I am downloading Drumcore free. does anyone know if it works with Reaper or am I barking up the wrong tree?
  5. Indeed, I like the thought of trying out some new groves. Hmmm decisions decisoions
  6. So I am blindlessly heading into the world of DAW drumming. Which of the titled drum packages is easist to get a half decent result with. I note you can get a drumcore lite on free download so I will give it a try but am wondering what everyone elses experiance is. Many thanks in advance Mike
  7. Tell me more about this so called "D" chord you have been talking about!!!
  8. thanks for responding. Best get me one then!
  9. Sorry for being a bit daft, but do either of these do the same as the thumpinator or is this something else again. the logic makes sense of removing the lower unheard notes and I am well known for shaking buildings and would rather turn this into hearable volume ;-)

  11. Hi Silent Fly many thanks for taking the time to respond. 12. We used to play quite a few of these until we went uber heavy. Every breath was so boring and I was forced to play it for a year. Was so happy that went. I do miss the Rasmus though. Great tune. My biggest advice would be if you enjoy playing it the crowd will enjoy listening. If you hate it the crowd will soon realise. I would also say have at least one song that you can claim you have stamped your flavour on it. I guarentee that will soon be the punters favourite.
  13. Useful review that. I think I will end up getting one next time I am a little flush.
  14. What's compression. I have a low pass filter on my Jeff Berlin. Does this work like a thumpinator. I am also using a mk1 barefaced compact and have been complimented on how low I can go.
  15. Have tried playing Psychosocial in low A. End up having to play it an octave up as it is like wallowing through a swimmingpool full of mud. I am hoping a thumpinator will resolve this ;-)
  16. I must admit that there is a load of wallow at B flat. From what I can recall the Tumpinator takes everything below B away. I have been told that I have the loudest bass sound some have ever heard or felt, so I have backed off a little. I suppose it is bass you feel as much as you hear ;-)
  17. Hi Gang I really like the look of the Thumpinator but we tune to B flat. Would this kill my low note? Ta Mike
  18. My Markbass Jeff Berlin has a low filter on it. Is it the same as a thumpinator or is this something else again. I was very impressed by that video.
  19. The lanes in Brighton are lovely and GAK (guitar amp keyboard) is between them and the station. HMS Victory in Portsmouth is well worth a look as well.
  20. Many thanks for the shout about the Studio setting. Hadn't thought of that. Am at xmas work do tonight but will be spending most of the weekend tweaking and experimenting.
  21. Yep, that makes some sense. Sounds like a lot of trial and error, which is not a bad thing. Got a loom and a load of leads coming in the next couple of days so I can connect things up. Simon, I am in Boxgrove, literally just off the A27, let me know if you are over this way as someone who knows what they are doing could jump start me to somewhere much better than I currently am ;-) Having monster trouble with the electronic drum kit as well. I thought that would have been easy but it just subs out and sounds crap!!!!
  22. You lost me a little on items 4 and 7 ;-) Not sure what compression to use or how to use it I think I am going to focus on getting a relatively good sound first and then focus on the smaller things. I am currently using Reason (or is it reaper, the free one) but may be able to get hold of a full version of ableton. Not sure what has a compressor or how good it is? Simon, I don't suppose you ever head over to Chichester way at all? Ta Mike
  23. Thanks for the assistance. Am going into the computer via an Alesis USB 16 multimix. I think i will just use the miced amp to get started and then look deeper into this once I have a decent signal for everything else as this could eat up a lot of time with no significant benefit and then just demotivate me ;-)
  24. Looking for a Rammstein type distorted sound. Have got line 6 X3 and spider 4 as well as a boss GT6. Can get a great recording tone when having a mic in front o fhte amp but none of the outputs including DI and headphones give a decent tone? Have yet to look at Bass or clean guitar as need to get the metal guitar sound sorted first ;-)
