1. Sold Kert a natural precision this weekend. A credit to the forum. Thanks mate.
2. How about an unfinished body and a can of this? https://www.manchesterguitartech.co.uk/product/daphne-blue-nitrocellulose-lacquer-aerosol/
3.
Congratulations on uni and the new job, sorry to see you leaving for Bristol Have a bump from me. Shambo knows his stuff when it comes to basses, so a 'bitsa Precision' will be the dogs doodles and Shambo himself is a true gentleman to deal with. Buy with confidence here
Cheers Grae. Hope life's treating you well.
4. Liking the wood grain on that body. I'm a sucker for a simple natural finish. Where do you source your bodies and necks from btw?
5. Another bump. My old bass is still for sale.
6. Gentle nudge. My old bass is up for sale on this forum and I could use the proceeds from this to help buy it back.
7. It's Shoreline Gold... and it's my old bass. Mmmm.
8. The Fender S1 switch was marketed as making your Jazz sound like a P-Bass. It didn't really, but it did have a pleasant sound of its own not wildly dissimilar from a Precision.
9. My lift is back on for the weekend. Looks like it's coming with me.
10. I always hear nice things about Farida basses. If I was closer and in buying mode, I'd be round for a reccy. Not maple finger boarded though... thinking about Anneka Rice must have made you tired. GLWTS.
11. Mine came with the neck, but if I were looking again, I would be stalking the "Other Musically Related Items For Sale" forum, (I still do tbh). Some lovely ones have popped up over the last few months that I nearly bought in preparation for another build.
12. Ah thanks for the kind words guys. Goes to show the nice community we have here on Basschat. Thing is, it's only a thing. Memories of people, places and predicaments are what give inanimate objects sentimental value and, although I brought the thing into being and it is a genuinely nice instrument, I simply haven't had it long enough to become especially attached to it.... now my old Jazz bass, that was a different story. I [s]blubbed like a child [/s]shed a manly tear when I had to sell that to pay the rent. I'm getting signals now that my potential lift to Bristol may be about to go tits up, so this bass is still very definitely for sale.
13. I'm with BRX on this one. I know mp3 quality has gotten better over the years but if you want to start messing with the eq of mp3 tracks, you won't have the source material to mess with, just an outline of it, because the data compression threw away most of what you may want to boost or cut. As an aside, if you're in the market for monitoring headphones, I've had some joy from a company called Superlux who make inexpensive approximations of more esoteric manufacturers equipment (minus the R&D costs) in much the same way Behringer brings equipment to market that look suspiciously like someone elses design but at half the cost.
14. Another gentle bump. About a week before I move.

16.
Here's where we are at: More to follow!
RUINED! lol, only joking. Each to their own. As said, it's really interesting to see your relicing technique.
17. It might stay. It might go. Moving house, and not driving, is a PITA so the less I have to travel with the better. That's why, if it makes it to Bristol, I shall in all probability keep it. I only made it earlier this year so haven't had time to get too sentimental about it. I know I'd be hard pressed to find anything of this quality to buy elsewhere but... I made it once (and thoroughly enjoyed the process) and I could do it again. Thank you for the kind comments.
18. Thanks guys. It is rather nice... more than the sum of its parts and better spec for mexican money. nice tight pocket Gotoh 203B 'vintage' style bridge... still shiney new 2014 Fender Mexican Precision neck and tuners with no marks Why am I selling this?
19. The Gotoh 203 bridge is a direct replacement, a little bit more substantial and retains that old school look. I haven't tried it with a cover though. More info here: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/129315-gotoh-201-v-203/
