Which cab?

Deffo look at the Markbass 102HF i've got the 4x10" version and it superb, but big the 2x10" will suit most fo your needs in a fairly light weight package
2. Just received my replacement Hipshot Ric Bridge and it is superb I never liked the original Ric bridge, I play with a pick and you can't palm mute, it alway felt a bit 'wooly' to play especially acoustically, the intonation was horrible, the action was ish ! The Hipshot (I've got the Aluminium one) is superb, its a direct fit, Intonation is spot on, action is actually lower as you can adjust each string, sustain and feel is solid as a rock All in all its expensive, but well worth it Anyone else got one or pondering getting one ?
3. Got the all Black version of this bass with a Black Badass II and Seymour Duncan 1/4'lbrs it is amazing ! Sound and playbility is spot on.
4. Right ! Try - RICS'R'US Know known as Rickysounds. They have spares and good advice Heres what your looking for - NUTS ! Good luck !
5. Try one of your nearest Sound Controls they seem to stock a lot of Schecter Basses
6. I have a 4003 and a Fender P and find the Ric lacks 'Punch & kick' even against the Fender P I've now just got a MXR M80 pedal as it has Bass / Mid / Treb / Volume controls (Ideal to balance your bass output) but also a separate channel for a bit of Overdrive (if thats your bag) But I have to admit if I want to cut more through I use the Precision
7. I bought 5 or 6 sets of Rosetti strings off E-by-gum-bay for £25 and four sets were useless the E strings had loose or broken cores and buzzed got a refund and now use the cheaper Pink Rotosound 45-105 sets for about £10 delivered

12.
keep having the urge to buy a plectrum and a rickenbacker bass and join a rock band.
Funnily enough I use a pick (Jim Dunlop 2mm Fat Stubby) and a Rickenbacker 4003 ! .
13. Now these basses have been around for a while I was wondering if anyone uses one and how they are getting on with it Have you had any reliability problems Is it really all your answers in one bass? Not everyones taste, but especially in the covers band market could be ideal !? Heres a question thats been niggling, as its a modeling bass does it make any difference to the sound if you have new strings or old strings on the bass ? Cheers Ade
14. You have a PM Cheers Ade
15. Dunlop Big Stubby 2mm Used to use thinner grey nylon picks as I thought thick = clicky but I find the more solid the pick the smoother the sound I also like the indent on the 'Stubby' stops the pick from slipping when sweaty
16. Hi Where are you based and could you PM me a 'ballpark' price you are looking for. Ta Ade
17. Cheers Guys Superb response as usual, just goes to show what a fantastic place this is I'm going to carefully clean it up, its in great complete condition for a 30+year old bass Not sure what I'll do with it, probably sell it and put the proceeds into something I will use ! Thanks again Ade
18. Thanks for that its helped kick start my search i've found the following possible names CLEARSOUND KINOR ARIA LORI KAWAI Possible all made and re-badged under various names in one of the Japanese factories late 60's or early 70's Not sure if I should clear it up and keep or sell at the moment ! If anyone has any further info please let me know
19. I got this off a family friend its made in Japan and thats all I know !
20. Anyway back to the question in hand We use two i-Color 3 lights with the mixer and foot controller and they are superb ! Simple to use and set up and you are able to chase and change colour wash at the tap of a foot ! Create single colour 'mood' wash and chasing 'disco' effects and built in sound to light The i-Color3's are cheaper and you have less chance of blowing the mains as its a 3K light rig on full blast the i-Color4 is 4K ! The range of colours are the same they just mix them in a different way. We have had loads of comment, how good our lights are and "where is the lighting control chap"? . . . Its me playing bass, doing backing vocals and dancing around the foot controller like a loony ! Loads better and more compact than Par cans and the bulbs are std halogens 99p from B&Q By far one of the best £400 we have ever spent . . but make sure you get the carry case to keep it all in. We actually clamp the lights onto the poles on our PA between the tops and the subs, saves space and you dont have to lug around lighting tripod stands. Have a look at : i-Color3 Blue Aran Prolight Clamp I will say it again - THEY ARE SUPERB

Modding a CS-3

Have a look at the Monte Allums conversion. Monte Allums Website Apparently the Monte Allums CS-3 Opto is SUPURB for bass. Compressors really work well for bass players. You can 'tweak' the sound to the right amount of 'attack' to give a punchy sound or use the CS-3 as a 'limiter' to 'smooth' and 'mellow' the sound...... very nice! There is also the details of a chap in the UK who does the conversion see details below. [email protected] The CS-3 Opto mod is £29.00p inc Mod Kit, Fitting, 'Signed for' Return Postage and Packing and full insurance.
22. I had an AGB-140 for a while with flat wounds on and sounded very 'woody' classic tones. Found it hard to get a low action, but then I didnt try adjusting the truss rod Not a bad bass for the money if thats the style you want. I would suggest getting the hard case if possible as it is hollowbody and set neck. AGB-200 has two pickups and gold hardware AGB-140 has one pickup and silver hardware
23. I'd take this up with the Bass Merchant I would say its up to them to sort it as they sold you the product, as long as its new I'm sure they will send you the missing items When did you buy it?
