1.
Seeing as you are not putting it back to original are you going to sell me back the Lindy Fralin?
I'm going to try it in my Fender P-Bass first, you can have it back if I don't keep it in there Ade
2. I was a bit embarrassed, its been through 3 or 4 people in as many weeks Thats got to get the alarm bells ringing, so I thought I'd put it on Ebay rather than have little or no interest here. I certainly wasnt going to put it on ebay for £500 ! The common factor here is that everyone who has owned this bass, have Fender P-Basses and this Lakland is NOT a P-Bass anymore to my ears If anyone is interested in the bass drop me a PM Toasted has offered some interest but havent heard from him again
3.
Exactly
I bought this bass with the full intention of selling my USA P-Bass but i love my Fender P too much I like my Fender neck and the basic easy to get sound I said to Mart at the time I was only going to keep one or 'tuther I've done 4 gigs with the Lakland, thats approx 6 hours 'on stage' thats a fair blast ! There is nothing wrong with the bass at all the Villex is great but I suppose its more of a 'Ray tone than a P . . . and I know the price is higher than I paid, but hey I've got to try it on to start with, is it a sin? has anyone else ever bought a bass and sold it for more ?
4. Nice to meet you Mart Well so far so good, picked the Lakland up Saturday and did it first gig Saturday night ! A full 1 1/2 hour set straright through as well, so no messing about! I found the bass comfortable and didnt notice the extra weight The Villex pup is superb, nice and clear and plenty of tonal adjustment Once I got the hang of how it all works and alters the sound its superb I found it very punchy and with the mid boost could alter the amount of 'attack' to my sound All in all I'm very pleased, probably do a back to back with my P-Bass at some point . . . . . . . but I might have a Fender USA P-Bass with S1 in Butterscotch, black scratchplate and Maple neck up for sale soon.
5. PM sent to ya !
6. For sale one LOUD Inc 4x10" cabinet The back, top, sides and base of the cab are plywood, and the front is MDF. It's got 4 Eminence Beta speakers and upgraded horn in it and is in excellent condition - the carpet is pretty much unmarked and its got Castors on the bottom so its easy to move around ! 8ohm, and it's 1200W ! £150. collected from Corby Northanptonshire, could also meet / deliver within a reasonable distance (Petrol paid) Only been gigged a couple of times and always treated well. Its a LOT of cab for the money Pics to follow if anyone is interested?

10. One more thing, one of you guys posted a cartoon picture of a girl with the midnight blue ric, but I cannot seem to find it. Anyone who know where it is?? That will be Haruhara Haruko from Fooly Cooly
11. Got my brand new Fender USA S1 P-Bass in Milton Keynes Sound Control for £499 what a Fupping BARGAIN ! Its the Butterscotch Blonde, Black plate with Maple board I love it !
12. Should be fine The trick is when taking the Xtender lever back UP add some tension to the string by pulling the string out with your right hand around the the neck join. This will ensure the string is in tune. Dropping down is usually OK This should be the one HIPSHOT GB7
13.
Great head.... I have the more powerful LM600 and it's superb.... +1 on the head I bought Gary's LM300 and the range of switchable sounds is superb

Distortion
+1 But the distortion side has a mid scoop to it which may mean it will get lost in the mix
Suppose it depends how you have the EQ set, but then distorted bass always seems to go AWOL in the mix, solution usually to boost the level slightly when using it.

Distortion

The MXR M-80 is very versatile as it has EQ / Blend & Distortion Good pedal when used in moderation
18. I was on the Glam band wagon in the 80's ( it was acceptable in the 80's ) in a band called Napalm Hearts our manager was a guy called Tony Smith (he was also Wrathchilds mgr at the time) . . . . He went on to be Metallica's Tour manager for about 10 years !
19. Surprised this is still here, a couple of months ago I would have taken your arm off at the ankle ! But now Ive got one ! Anyone who has a Ric NEEDS to have one of these, your Ric will be fully in tune probably for the first time, its more comfortable to play and you can palm mute too and it look superb ! BUT IT NOW
20. Heres a new 'Bass Only' album to be released by bassist Markus Grosskopf It also includes Billy Sheehan, Rudy Sarzo to name but two Apparently he had the dream of recording a Metal album with only Bass and NO guitars at all ! Heres a link to the details : BASS INVADERS MySpace Should be interesting . . . .
21. Out of interest and probably of use to others What cab is it actually made for ? Might help shift it !
22. I've got a Fender USA series Precision Bass (the one with the useless S1 Switching) The output from the D & G strings is considerably lower than the output from the E & A strings I'm going to try lowering the pup under the E & A and raise the t'uther to try and even it out I've had this bass a couple of years and not noticed this until I installed a Badass III bridge So . . Is there a way of checking if both halfs of the split pick-up are working correctly ? Cheers for you help Ade
23. VERY - Cheap Trick !
