Dude you must of either had alot of money or you were very lucky to pick them up on the cheap.
20+ years of saving and collecting... oh it also helps having a proper day job and spawning no ankle-biters!
What you got for sale?
http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=48352 http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=71183 Good luck getting this sorted, I think with X 's help you should have it cracked soon.
 2. Hello and welcome. Try having a flick through this thread, you'll get a few names and numbers. http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=33689
 3.
What a nice looking P - bet those Nordy's work well too
Indeed!
Oooh! Ooh! This is very lovely! It feels a heck of a lot lighter than 9lb!
I know it impressed you when you gave it a quick blast t'uther day and I agree that it feels even lighter than 9lb but you know me MB... I'm a stickler for accurate weight and this clocks in bang on 9lb.
 4.
So need something light, balances well and can out Ray a Ray? Sounds like a Status Streamline to me WH, love mine so much I'm going to be cremated with it (hopefully in the distant future)......
Anthems for the over 30's... "I'd rather fade away than burn out" "I hope I get old before I die"
 5.
Think you're right WH, strangely tho, I didn't find any difference (by that I mean the size didn't seem to register when playing) when I moved from a 90's Ray4 to a 2004 Sterling and then back to a 2005 Ray4. The Sterling was about 1/2 pound heavier than my 2005 Ray4 as well - go figure.
I only identified the size difference when someone local brought their Ray to see that it would fit in the MM/EB Sterling case that I had for sale... Ray was quite a bit larger but you'd not think it to look at it. Odd that the Sterling was so heavy as the couple that I've either owned or tried have been pretty light but there are bound to be vagaries in weight, hence my constant requests for people to weigh their bass accurately rather than manufacturers claims or bathroom scale guesstimates.
 6.
Warwickhunt, what happened to the large array of Warwicks you had? didnt you have like, 10 at one point?
10... and then some! I realised that I was turning into a Warwick collector rather than a Warwick player, so most of them found new homes (I retained 3 though one is up for sale).
 7.
Damn, my Stingray would have gone for this..............unfortunately it's 5oz too heavy
Nice thought, though I think the Ray is significantly larger than the Sterling as well.
 8.
warwickhunt, there's no reason why this shouldn't work without buzzing, it just requires some time and logical process to find where the loop is occurring and then take the correct steps to remove the problem.
Totally agree with you mate, I was just throwing an alternative solution into the mix, though as you say logically isolating the components will eventually solve the problem; saying that regardless of anything else I'd be having the amp conversion professionally checked out. I should point out that I wasn't advocating 'de-racking' the amp, it could still be rackmounted but separately from the other kit. As you say a couple of extra connections to make when setting up and for one box ease of use, not the best way forward.
 9.
I don't like figured wood so it's not for me, but I love Warwicks and I bet that is about as good a bass as any. Surprised it hasn't gone yet.
I've had a bit of interest but as with past enquirers, when it comes down to committing and actually parting with readies, things go a bit cool!
 10.
£600's worth of equipment and i can't even use it properly... ~ARGH~
Do you 'have' to put all of your kit in one rack? You could put the amp in one case (2U/3U) and then put the rest of the kit (tuner/receivers) in a 2nd 2U unit; they'd stack together and for rehearsals you could just take the amp and a cable rather than wireless. Just a thought but how about doing away with the rack tuner and getting a stomp box tuner? Just trying to save you a nervous breakdown.
 11. Wasn't sure who KT was so I Googled it, especially as the headstock was reminiscent of a bass played by a coloured guy in the 80's/90's that had some patented 'floating neck' but it wasn't him obviously as I now know KT played in The Scorpions. However I did find a youtube vid of someone using a Sandberg KT... this guys style and mannerisms remind me of someone but for the life of me I can't quite put my finger on who! 14.
*grabs popcorn* Shockwave?

What questions to ask. Asked not criticism.
People have the right to be cautious and ask appropriate questions of a seller; especially someone who registers on a forum and immediately attempts to sell an expensive item. The fact that the OP's details of the item is, to say the least, 'limited' and that English appears to be the second language, from past experience, these are indicators of a 'potential' scam. If a seller's responses to questions via PM are equally shonky, why shouldn't people post the replies to make others aware of a potential scam. You'd have to be a right FW to imagine that when dealing with online purchases from private individuals the term, 'innocent till proven guilty' applies. Forums are littered with tales of people trying to bag bargains and letting their heart rule their head; there is at least one active case at the minute on the Warwick forum where someone didn't follow the basic rules and the person selling said item has then tried to do it on this forum as well! IF this seller is genuine then he needs to get a few more details up and tbh if he's from the Far East/Thailand he's gonna need to find a very trusting first trading partner! <edited for spelling; that's my CDO coming through... OCD is so untidy! >
 15.
I cannot say for or against this sale being dodgy, however I can say the seller is not posting from a UK registered IP. My advice: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caveat_emptor
Is it possible to cross reference the IP address with a recent user also selling a 'suspect' bass that was flagged up here and on the Warwick forum? Failing that is it possible for the Admin's to liaise with Florin over on the Warwick forum to give him the heads up on the IP address; firstly to see if it matches a recent 'possible' transgression or to see if it matches with any IP's registered on the Warwick forum... all in the name of e-safety and 'bass-love'. If the user(s) in question are genuine then surely they would actively encourage/support validation of their integrity!
 16.
Are you having a mass clearout ?
It comes around with startling regularity when you are as fickle as me. In all honesty though, I've got a couple of basses that I'd never sell (until recently my Warwick Ltd Ed was one of those but the weight means I'll never gig it... dodgy shoulder) and other basses will come and go as the mood suits.
 17. This 'may' be of interest... http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=71183 Even if you left the Jazz pup turned off (the volume control is ideal for that ) the Nordstrand on it's own sounds fab.
 18. Duplicate thread!
 19. Selling to make way for an incoming bass. Not sure of the age but I'll check the serial number against the Zon record and update. I'm almost certain it doesn't have a truss rod (though I am aware that some have the rod and that you have to remove the neck to get at the adjuster... don't fancy doing that at this point). As you may well be aware the Zon graphite necks are set-up to not require tweaking and this one is spot on with a nice low action with no noticeable fret wear. The neck is very slim and shallow and lives up to the advertising claim to be the 'Jazz bass for the 90's'. It has Bartolini pups and a retro-fitted Bartolini pre. The bass is in very good condition with one small ding through to the wood and a little chip in the headstock but no nasty bucklerash etc. Controls are Vol Pan and stacked bass/treble. I've just had the jack socket replaced as it had an intermittent drop out when the jack plug/lead moved about, all now good. Any questions just PM me and I'll get back to you pretty sharpish.
 20. GONE I've basically decided that not only do I prefer light basses (this is 9lb and balances perfect) but I also want reduced body size basses (though not cricket bat ones ). I'd be interested in a Sterling or other basses of similar quality, must be small bodied bass and no more than 9lb in weight.
 21. One for the Japcrap experts... http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...mp;#entry689708

 23. Which one of my basses... Oh sorry, just realised any one of them is worth more than my Y reg Focus Est!
 24.
I liked the Sterling I had, it was very bright, punchy and aggressive - the neck was sublime and had a Jazz profile. It hung well in the mix and smelt of toffee (no kidding).
That bass really did smell of vanilla/toffee didn't it!
I came across Ed Friedland's (and that German guy who i cant understand and the Italian guy who had way too much low end but a nice jacket) video reviews of the Sterling by MM SB14 and SR34 and i must say, im impressed with the tone, more so the SB14 than the SR4 I think this may well be what im looking for. Although Ed reviewed both together i thought the SB14 sounded better and has more variation in tone. Also i believe it has a more Jazz like neck as opposed to the SR4 having a more P like one.
I'm glad you're going to actually go out and try these basses as it's a HUGE mistake to listen to someone else play them and imagine that's how they'd sound in your 'hands' (as that's where the main difference can lie). I've known people play my basses, through my gear, and still manage to get a completely different sound to the one that I get! Though I accept if you are listening to someone do an A/B between two basses then at least you can hear a difference between the two.
