There are quite a few (OK, lots!) graphs like that in economics. normally with the law of diminishing returns:
-
Hhhmmm.... that's fighting talk!
-
I’d welcome more people posting replies with a graph. Or a nice Venn diagram.
-
You may have seen these: I guess you could fix it to the wall make some kind of key holder.... or just somewhere to hang two jack leads! Note/disclaimer: It's not a good security option to hang keys out on display like that.

I think when the pedal is “off” the clean guitar sound goes to the amp. When the pedal is “on” it doesn’t send anything to the amp because of no battery.

I have heard of situation were a (smallish) band will come to tour the UK from, say, America. They may bring a support band with them. Then they don't bring hardly any gear with them and just engage a UK band a to support the tour (or maybe different band per gig) and gear share the drums and backline off the support band. Of course the UK band are right at the bottom of the bill, short set before most of the punters are there. I'd might be OK with it if the US band was someone I was a fan of. Otherwise may not be so keen.

I think Johnny Ramone used to use a pedal with no battery as a way to isolate his guitar. Obviously he would not use an effect pedal for any other reason.

Hello Basschatters, I PM'd @Erax Sound to take up this offer! I handed over the stems from one of my home recording projects... it didn't sound so great with my mix ☹️. Andy at Erax has done a great job.... really bought the track to life and even fixed a couple of timing issues. Good job, very happy with the results.

Enjoyed that ! And yes, yet another brilliant TinyDesk concert.... they do a great job across a lot of genres. I didn't jump to youtube to watch it though..... I didn't have time to get sucked into a Tiny Desk vortex 😄!

Bim Sherman - Golden Locks. No reggae drums, no reggae bass....well chilled, but still got a reggae feel.

By co-incidence (I hope) someone on one of my Facebook groups just posted a FZ Video. From a 1984 Concert the song is called "He's so Gay"........ ..... let's just say I remain to be converted. To Zappa, I mean.
-
I like Beefheart a lot, so figure I should like Zappa somewhat. But when I've tried Zappa It's not worked for me. Not yet anyway. Not sure why..... too noodly? Willing to try again though.

I currently use Studio One Artist (came bundled with some hardware)…… It's OK but can't you cannot add VST's to it. There is an upgrade available to Artist Version 5 for about £42 which will give VST support. Then I'll be able to add EZ Drummer or similar. I don't really need any extra features beyond the VST support... does anyone know if the V5 VST support is any good, or if there are any issues?

Good that you have some mysterious, un-named person to run over and pick it up!
-
Proving your point I had to Google that!
-
Good one.... but due to his choice of name you'd have to contextualise it by mentioning bass. Otherwise they might think "I'm no Flea" means "Well, I can jump quite high" 😀
-
I’ve dropped this one a few times at band rehearsal and gigs. Never won any arguments though😃!

When people wanted to say they were OK but not great at football they could say "well, I'm no David Beckham, but......" or similar. That name would be widely recognised to equate to "a good footballer", even amongst non-football fans. Is there a bass player whose name you could use in the same sentence structure and would be similarly recognised? (Not just know the name like Paul McCartney, but know they are a bass player) Or is bass just too far outside the public consciousness? "Well, I'm no Bernard Edwards" anyone?

This is on 6music at the moment - Valerie June "Call Me a Fool", gets quite a few plays there. And deservedly so. She mixes up country, roots and soul to great effect. Probably more soul on this track.
