  1. looks like a toe graphted on in place of a thumb!.. Thought your headstock clamp was a plain block, rather than ball retainer...
  2. Nope... It's bad... the paint skinned and snotted... If the back was the front i'd of thought about a light sand and clear coat... but I'd never be happy... so it's au natural n woody...
  3. RAGS WARNING... Just a quick note, Rags from using with some oils, like danish oil can Spontaniously Combust!... So a little caution... wet the rags, and allow to dry flat, outside before disposal, dont screw them up oily and put in the bin... especially indoors!
  4. Unless you are getting the body n neck from the same supplier... maybe a bit of sanding 'n finishing...
  5. Dip Disaster! Had another go yesters now the weather has warmed up... Dustbin full of water... Paint, Swirl, Dunk! Started off OK... then the paint kinda thinned out... Think there was not enough surface area and therefore paint area on the top of the water in the dustbin to cover the whole body as it got dunnked... Cost of getting a bigger vessel, more paint and trying again, i think i'm gonna sand off to bare wood and go Danish like the P, or go Beeswax... and back to the black pup covers... Oh well was a good idea, but best left to the experts... another one of those things that those that know their onions make look so easy...
  6. I' TAI CHI tennie weenie yellow polkadot bikini - Jimmy Hendrix... ^ ez got in first...
  7. Where might you be getting the body from? Have a search on 'Luthiers Warehouse' on here... mine both needed a little sanding work. I did a Custom P body a while back... Used No Nonsense Danish Oil from Screw Fix... Wipe On or Slurry Method with wet n Dry... so no spraying... Mind the rags though! I also got a Custom J body from the same place... but the Hydro Dip didn't go to plan yesterday!.. so it might get a sanding and a Danish Oiling... thinking about just goin with Wilko or Waitrose Beeswax...
  8. Thats great news... and a great new home! Good Darts!
  9. Glad some picked it up... body looked real nice... Fingers Crossed the neck just needs a relax and a truss rod tweal to make it useable... Looked a bargain. Post some pics!
  10. S'manfa!.. They look like the ones Bassassasinassasin is using on his 'Guilotine-n-backer' - might help...
  11. Donner Dark Mouse... £45 https://idonner.eu/collections/guitar-effect-pedal/products/donner-distortion-effect-guitar-pedal-dark-mouse-distortion-pedal-true-bypass Deal with a Yellow Fall Delay... £48 the pair!
  12. All the P's 'n J's i think are the same and don't think there is enough 'meat' for anything but a '50s Tele... might 'just' get a scaled down small P or J Think this is the template most use... Page 6 Mike Dirnt... Have a print and a look on scaling the others...bass heads.pdf
  13. I often suffer with a paronychia finger nail, after that kind of 'hang nail' bit of skin... Dab of TCP, Detol or Isoprop to make sure its clean, then O'keefees Working Hand Cream... quite pricy, but good stuff and you only need a small dab.
  14. We will know when you post pics of ya new Short Scale Fretless Headless... I'm arsing about with primer 'n sander and a dustbin of water... want to get my Jazz Hydro Swirl done today! Gotta a feeling it's gonna turn out like kids mixed up playdoh i l just know it... Great day for Bass Mods!
  15. Bang Bang! Bang Bang! Bang! (Mark Chapman Shot Me Down) - John Lennon...
  16. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang! - Fine Four-Fendered Friend...
  17. Are Lakeland now doing 'build-your-own' kits?
  18. Kent Armstrong (Korean) Hot Vintage... from WD Music... £58...
  19. I take it all back... The bottom one looks cool... Rear Route helps for the modern look... Are you cutting and shaping the body back to the saddle plate? I get odds n sods, stainless bridge screws n stuff from Spaldings Fasters of the 'bay...
  20. Nice looking body wood... With the cheap tuners... a dab of coppa slip on the worms and a good twist to remove any plating flashing and get a bit of 'conforming mesh' with the wheel... or wire wool if ya can be arsed to dismantle them... then a clean and dab of vaseline... surprisingly smooths things up for not a lot of effort... Blue or Blueberry-Burst?
