  1. @police squad... STOP... Been a few HB PB50 Modders about... and does look like a mighty fine 'lil project... Earlier(?) ones have no routing under the plate, later ones have had a small hole in the top... to make the drilling and wiring easier between pup cavity and control cavity via the hole... shame - or a little sticker? 😉 The burst on the later ones is a paper photo burst over bass wood... some posts pics etc show and describe lots of plastic type sealer... bugger to get off - Red one is meant to be an easier re-fin Headstock?.. see page 6 Mike Dirnt - still tempted to tele the head on my P Bitsa...bass heads.pdf
  2. I think the Strat proximity was for swells... Knob, Jazz, Technique... all in one sentence?... Maybe one of those up and coming strange Maths-Jazz-Infusion enthusiastsm
  3. @Duarte... about time!.. Following with interest. Remember seeing seeing this, was the inspiration for my Custom J PJ Body.

  5. Or... Think this was Fenders Idea when QC took a dive...
  6. Just for round the neck pocket sides, maybe the back as well, the depth of the neck pocket... piece like this do ya?.. 180mm x 25mm... PM me an address and i'll pop it in the post cardboard protected. It's very brittle and thin... a dab of lemon oil may help, but might effect the glueing. I'd glue then trim.
  7. Veneer... 'Prolly able to get away with a 'sample' often sold for a pound or cost of letter post. Hold the page... off to the shed... Remembered i got sample to do a TRC on my Rick-a-like but the veneer was too thin, for the size of cover..
  8. Sometimes the serrated lock washer, if used... can cut through the foil, or paint, reducing the effectiveness of the contact... so a link of stretched TCW is a good call, or run all grounds to the Jack... easier with a simple single pup less wires... dont forget the bridge earth. EDIT: Sometimes the serrated lock washer, if used... can cut through the foil... Meant the foil on the back of scratchplate, not copper foil lining of a cavity...
  9. Fixed it for ya...
  10. At the time and my youthful music No... Fats Domino, Everly Bros, Buddy Holly, Duane Eddy... Nowadays when i hear em, it takes me straight back and i can appreciate whats in them.
  11. What sort of Twin P Configuration? It's just for fun... or is it? 😉
  12. In 2015 it was $600 v's $465 list for an SR300... B300 instead of B120 Bridge, and a Coffee Table Top. Think i might out the 3 Band and try the Pups Passive VBT...
  13. Autosol Dremmel Polish of the Frets and Lemon Oiled the Light-ish Rosewood Fretboard... Nice Bees Wax and a Buff... Claro Walnut finish is described as Natural Gray Burst Flat... Subtle Few dings and some wear and tear...
  14. Just picked up an(other) Ibanez SR... SR400B-CW... 2015 Reg, and my googling and perusing of the Ibanez US and EU Brochures, have drawn me to the conclusion that this was a US model... So not Rare as such, more Less Familiar... Claro Walnut (CW) top on Mahogany body, SR4 Neck Maple and Rosewood, Rosewood Board. Needs a good clean and hopefully i can restore some luster to the top and headstock.
