All good stuff then. Thanks again. Another question about watts/driving cabs/headroom etc - I currently use a TC Electronic Classic 450, which I like a lot. Volume-wise I have never had to play beyond 11 o'clock into 4ohms so feel I have all the power I need with that kind of head. With regard to driving the cabs with a more powerful amp, would there be any advantages/disadvantages in getting, say, the Shuttle 9.2 model but playing at lower volume setting on the amp, as opposed to a 6.2 which I am sure would be perfectly loud enough for my puroses?

What does the Shuttle .2 bring to the party that the original lacks?

Having spent 20 mins enjoying those vids, would it be fair to say the main differences are simpler controls for the Streamliner and more colour to the tone. 900W versions give more bottom because they aren't designed to be treamed with smaller cabs? I have a Barefaced Compact + Midget so guess the 900W wouldn't be too much.

I very much liked the GB Shuttle 6 when I tried it and am considering getting a GB of some description to give me a choice of amp/back up as . But frankly the different ranges and models confuse the hell out of me. Can anyone outline, preferably in words of one syllable or less, what the main pros and cons are of these different ranges? Also, it seems the 900W versions are more popular, but I don't understand why. And, finally, what are the improvements of the newer .2 models. ta!

I've never used a Gator but, having bought a Hiscox, never seen the need to try. I usually weigh around 100kg +/- and have been known to stand in the middle of my Hiscox case with bass inside just to prove a point.

Bought a Line 6 wireless kit from Neil. By the time I got around to asking if the money went through ok he had posted it! Packaged to withstand a nuclear holocaust and sent by special delivery, too. A totally smooth transaction and a pleasure to deal with.

I usually have to hear the singing before I get the pitch. I put it down to the fact that my hearing is knackered, but maybe it is more widespread.

One more name to add to the list of endorsements. Bought a 'lard-arse' P-Bass wiring loom, exudes quality, great price, fitted in minutes, sounds nice. Thanks John.

Just to echo comments from the others - Gareth is a great bloke to deal with. I bought a bass from him, when it arrived there was a problem with it. There is always a nagging uncertainly when dealing with people unseen and unknown but in this case everything was sorted out as smoothly and as painlessly as it possibly could have been. I may as well start the avalanche of replies that will endorse OBBM cables - you cannot buy better for the money and the service is second to none. If you have soldering skills or want to learn them then you may *just* manage to do it cheaper yourself using good quality components. I have fiddled about recently as a way of improving my soldering but in all honesty will go back to buying them from OBBM.

Just a thought - if you don't live far away you are welcome to come and have a noodle on it. I am SE Essex.
