  1. How many laminations are required for a WAL style knob ? 😆😆😆😆 Batteries not included, 9 volts should be adequate.
  2. If you could cope with loads of turns by comparison with the usual it would surely be feasible to produce tuners with a finer pitched thread. Guess an electric tuner winder would be a necessity at restring time though !
  3. I am Colossus Do not Look Down. Actually going to listen to the whole of Koloss. Meshuggah
  4. Off topic I know but I was 2/3 into a London-Brighton cycle rally many moons ago when I caught up with a guy on a Unicycle. 60miles on a Unicycle yikes. Probably ended up with damaged nethers tho.
  5. Plus the lovely Bassist on her Unicycle.
  6. Bit like the Ravi Shankar story were he played an outdoors show in front of a large crowd of hippy trippy Californians. Because of the humidity the string players took an age to tune up. After which the Hippies burst into enthusiastic applause.
  7. All sounds pretty (germanically) efficient, rather different from the mayhem in Blighty ( Project Fear morphing into Reality )
  8. With regard to the excellent previous gen Nexus Cabs I enquired whether they were permanently out if production and Laney emailed me back a few months ago to say they would be back. Regretting not having picked up a 210 second hand when I had the chance.
  9. Endomorph and Maid Marian. Allan Holdsworth Secrets Album.
  10. Apparently Belt was a nice fellow, heard his widow was keeping the cult alive last time I looked. Machina Dynamics is a new name to me, would Google furnish me some giggles?
  11. Ho ho, someone recalls the inimitable Peter Belt and his pseudo science.
  12. Would have sold poorly in the Southern US/Nashville I reckon 😁
  13. Love the M2 - so light for a five string. I think 7 basses enough (pro-tem). Sires are great but KSD with Audere a good substitute, need to get pickups checked tho ??
  14. As @la bam has pointed out Laney Nexus. Hardish to find but GAK have an N410 (46lbs 8ohm) for £600 or so.
  15. Looks fine to me. So many used Yamahas around and find that even baseline models are really well crafted. If a bit heavy. Found a lefty TRB1005j for £300 a few months ago, a keeper and sole downside is it's hefty.
  16. Squier VM jazz. Cort Action5 5str. (Ugly unbelievably cheap but necks good really amazing for the money.) Sire M2 5str 2nd Gen. Yamaha 4str Beater . (downtuned with the Rotosound clothes line thickness strings) Chowny Retrovibe. (As close as I'll get to a Geddy Style Rickenbacker. Previous owner put Optima Gold strings on it. A really nice resonant light Bass. Think the pickups let it down a bit) KSD Proto J 605 (Audere Pre d'addario black tapewounds. Love this Bass despite it being battered/gigged) Yamaha trb1005j. (A lovely looking well made Bass as good an instrument as I'll ever need. Maybe a little bland, certainly a bit bloody heavy. So I got the Chowny 😄)
  17. Have a look at the Albion ABH800 Monster that I got alarmingly cheap on eBay. It's rather lighter than the Trace but took a while to get Ok tones on it with the multiplicity of adjustment available. Seems a pretty well made thing and still does 650 watts on the 8ohm setting. Valve preamp great and compressor works when gently utilised. Seems a pity that Mr Grindrod's designs were virtually stillborn. I don't know if he's still active. Damnit I can't seem to even post a link, much less a photo 😥😥😥
  18. Thanks @doghammer. It's a very nice light resonant bass.
  19. One of the first big gigs I went to. Still love a bit of earlier heavier Rush.
