Cheap Ashdown 220 touring combo if you're near Ware....
JottoSW1 replied to vinorange's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
That didn't happen in Hertfordshire did it? Thought it was centred around Glam-Organ ??? -
What is the heaviest you comfortably listen to?

Koloss has some huge riffs (the post vocals workout at the end of Marrow !!!) and a mighty groove. A masterpiece. -

Meshuggah and then Meshuggah again, not sure whether my favourite is Koloss or Violent Sleep of Reason. -
Zombie Thread. I really love my CTM 30. You Missed out on one that went for £200 on eBay v recently. Where are you based, a friend of mine is borrowing the amp at present, we're based N & Central London but I'm also out and about in southern half UK for various reasons if u wanted to give it a try.

Many thanks, will therefore plug Ashdown into requisite socket. Re: Cab - foolery. So a composite or very carefully constructed lightweight enclosure would of necessity be boat sized.?😃 Would it be feasible to do a ported 4x12" cab in this configuration? I guess this would make it a bit more compact.

This is the rack (i.e. no sequencer) version that a late friend hoarded away. At present condition would be as sold. Anyone on basschat who would like to purchase pm me if you think it's grossly overpriced 🙏 However it and it's companion R8 drum machine live a few doors down from an excellent studio service shop (for a swift assessment prior to posting on eBay/reverb). Am considering keeping / i.e paying for the R8 pour moi and collecting some stuff like the "jazz" soundcard

A beloved Amp has a check sticker by a reputable tech co. This is dated 2017. Other than a bit of dust removal being required (have a miniature plastic battery powered tech hoover so will cautiously do this myself) there's nothing wrong but High Volume Usage is infrequent. There is no immediate likelihood of this being used for gigs. How long is appropriate/prudent for a currently lightly used solid state head like a Trace, Laney, Peavey etc after a certification before you check it in ? Or do you wait till it starts to sound funny? JdeV

I'll be checking if that's on my B3n to save some fiddle faddling around time. Can be too much messing around time. As often as not I just play thru an old line 6 M5.

@Bill Fitzmaurice Has anyone latterly built an equivalent baffle configuration with 4x12s

Good to hear from you - as I suspected cab doesn't sound great turned up. Will be demoing/listening to amp head thru an aging Ashdown 4 X 10. Will the Bassman 135 be okay at 8ohms, or will I need to add a cab?under no circumstances will anyone be running it flat out. Might be sampling some sound files via Positive Grid. JdeV @Bill Fitzmaurice Have you come across laVoce drivers etc. Would be interested for your opinions on their neo bass drivers. Maybe also their enclosure plans. I am using the 10's & 15"s in various Laney Nexus Cabs and like them a lot. The Cabs have gone totally under the radar but are v v good. Don't seem to be in Stock anymore (in UK). Checked in with Laney re availability Light well made and sound nice. Testimonials including @la bam

Not mine, will be disposed of with Amp ideally

Friend has one of these - sounds lovely through my Ashdown CTM 30 at low volume. Very 70's sounding. I gather they're not great and have helped to move it (a few) metres so weighty. What would happen if speakers were pulled then replaced for any later sale; then modern drivers ( I like the laVoce neos in my Laney Cabs) installed. Haven't had a chance to look into this company's specs for 12" drivers. Ideally would like to incorporate speakers into 2 X 12 cabs later. RE THE BASSMAN 135 Head ? Any recommendations for a North London + N suburban Amp Tech to give this a check clean / safety check. My friend is holding these for his deceased housemates family At some point to be sold but a clean and check needed. Amp was permanently switched on In a practice room for ages (good or bad or myth) Scruffy but sound - sometimes characterised as mojo.

@uk_lefty Mr Greek's offer echoed as my gear is largely out and about in N.London, when it's not at home - if you wanted a go. Easiest would be the Trace plus Epifani (somewhere it has a bit of room around it ideally).

Use my ah500x through various combinations of Laney N210 /115/410 neo light weight cabs. A great sound especially the 6x10 ! Also thru an Epifani UL212. Absurdly Loud with the Trace sounds lovely (sounding good even at low volume luckily). Cab weighs about 56lb so about the same as the Trace. Still compact enough for a Minicab or ordinary car. Sadly also faithfully represents the limitations of my Bass Playing. 🤣🥴🥴🥴🥴👍

Even though we've a free rein I'm going to be on my best behaviour. Plus I'm going to tweaking lots of knobs on a fairly elaborate hybrid Amp. Specifically tube drive and it's compressor. Then again Don the guitarist's got himself a 100 watt hi-watt clone that he wants to exercise

The Plantar Fasciitis edition. Or Veruca Salt signature?

On my way to have a Jam sesh in a Dutch Barn near London Conley. 800 watts and an Epifani Cab should do nicely.
