  1. You also said at volume AKA loud; I tend to agree. At moderate levels [such as A/B test most likely] it may be harder to discern. I have accepted well engineered Class D for its overall good sound and light weight for moderate loud [and power for loud gig's] Gig's I have been doing especially now at 67yrs old. The loud gig's large clubs with less than stellar tone I can make through without much annoyance but those are few and far between last few years.
  2. Also the much maligned MarkBass made a Cameo😀
  3. I have had just 1 Bass from 1975 to present 1000's of Gig's
  4. Fender Ultra Precision
  5. Used Stingray Special seems obvious based on your post and replies. Patience should find you one under 1800 G&L L2500 CLF Series are in 9lb+ range [under 10] and don't have ugly head stock😀
  6. The SBMM STINGRAY 24 has Jazz neck also if looking used the older CA versions of Ray34/24 and QM [Quilted] models of Stingray 34 [on headstock not Ray34] [2017-19 I believe] have Jazz neck width also. I had for short time The SBMM Stingray34QM with 1.5 nut width;
  7. Well thought out sensibility works also🙂
  8. All your possibilities are excellent products but why not get your 2x12 Royal Purple 4 ohm version and AG700 [stable at 2.67 ohms] so you can add another 8 ohm 1x12 if ever needed This setup will sound completive to anything you look at similar price and should keep you rocking for years to come. PS: If you add the 1x12 to mix you can use it for rehearsal and small club, the 2x12 for medium club and both for large/Festival if for some reason your don't have FOH support😀
  9. Phil Jones Bass has a couple excellent Headphone amps
  10. They have a LMV preamp with Drive but many users not impressed.
  11. 10 Years seems a decent run being used regularly and a value if considering cost per year; It seems through my travels in Bass Forums that 10-12 years for mid priced Class D/AB amps is when some failures start cropping up. Getting it repaired may be half +or- of new purchase if money is a concern [if repair holds and no others lying in wait😀] Maybe go checkout New Version and see if it sounds as good, better; If so and purchase won't hurt well....
  12. Can also checkout Markbass new NY121 D2; has new 1" voice coil tweeter most likely better than Piezo and same size as your combo for locking fit.
  13. You can ad Ultra to that list but price range out of line with BB434 Have not heard new Player Plus [sort of MIM version of Elite/Ultra] but maybe? at about $1100 US if looking New.
  14. If wanting backup Amp also your choices seem fine. Not sure about 'TC Quiet' thing; volume is coming from device imputed and high level headphone listening not a good idea anyway. I would add Ampeg Micro V to list
  15. 8ohm output is 170 watts on Mini One The GR Bass line both amps and cabs have peaked my interest. Looking at Mini One as backup/rehearsal/song learning amp and One 800 as main Liked Idea of Pure800 as I am not a EQ fiddler just a touch sometimes; I have a 3 band active bass so that would do BUT with the pure switch on One 800 and added features like Tuner and DI Volume along with Semi parametric EQ which may come in handy in bad room it seems the wiser choice; [both Mini and 800 have aux in and Headphone out nice for practice and learning songs]
  16. Played that way but with IEM's and Mic at front center facing audience [to hear them when they spoke to us] with original band for a few years. Having a CD/Studio quality mix at reasonable level enhanced our performance along with other benefits mentioned. A tad pricey though.
  17. The vents and fan locations are the same for LMV D2 and Combo Head in amp. Markbass public policy on replacing combo head with different model is 'Don't Recommend" Most likely knowing things may go sideways with DIY'ers
  18. lots of Ideas given here but based on above sentence take a listen to Markbass, PJB, Traynor and new Trace Elliot combo's [ or Elf with 2x8]
  19. I am replacing with Little Mark Vintage D2 has tube preamp, footswitchable mute, EQ and boost, parametric mid controls; also is Gold line series build
