  1. Yes I know; been playing since '75 had Ampeg SVT, Trace Elliot, SWR all great Amps in their own way; was just being antagonistic[aka jerk] but I did like my fingers sound with mentioned Amps as opposed to when I was in a situation and had to use Old Squire Bass and 1x15 Ampeg Combo Amp Also very content with my 'Last Dance' Rig Stingray Special, Mesa WD 800 AND SUBWAY 1X15; My old and crooked Fingers Sound better than ever😀
  2. Most equipment was poor that’s why you had to use fingers to get some semblance of what sound preferred Hence sound in fingers is easier and more accurate with better equipment not just any old equipment IMHO and IME
  3. Yes that may be true along with dynamics and proper feel BUT you still need excellent equipment to properly reproduce your amazing fingers😏
  4. May be a Love Song about relationship with Heroin but love song just the same and one of my favorites overall Also some nice Bass playing by a favorite Fernando Saunders
  5. I had a plan that is now complete Mesa WD 800 and Subway 1X15 along with EBMM Stingray Special 4H all bought Brand New over Summer
  6. When we were backup music and props for Topless Dancers in a Dive Club on Long Island NY
  7. Make sure Tone control is full on and all amp EQ flat to start Jazz with both pickups is Mid-Scooped so don't adjust tone as you would Jazz. With P be careful with Lo-Mid 250 to 500Hz may need slight cut This is were environment and speaker can cause mud/honk and loss of clarity P Bass is strong in Mids Jazz more scooped. In Gensral not a Law😊
  8. Should sound great: I have been looking at getting a 2x10 Barefaced or a 10T&10 Markbas is Lm IV 😊
  9. Yes I bought one used a few years back worked great in rehearsal but when Band was about to Gig bought extension Cab Have not needed extension yet mostly small/medium Gig's no FOH I am also content with it's tone and blends well in mix on stage and in customer area of Venue
  10. Nice Amp; I like the Graphic has 4 controls from 40-400hz should not only allow finding great tones[used with restraint] but be very helpful playing multiple Venues
  11. I am not a fan of blob pressed against the fretboard up to 10th fret[ seen many others like it ] but overall it's not so bad aesthetically even with the hole in the headstock; nice looking fretboard and unoffensive color🙂
  12. I have played American P Basses[1975/2001] in all but 7 years of the 45+ Gigging But never one of these this new AV 54P single coil tone has really peaked my interest despite Bridge and never being a 'P with Flats Guy' Blonde or White
  13. Nothing Clumsy about this Fender[picture from listing where I bought it] Neck Pocket, String alignment, Frets and edges, neck and body finish, hardware, weight and balance and Sound all first rate
  14. My 1975 Precision White with Maple Neck bought new; Sold in 2000 was nicotine yellow by then.🙂
  15. I don't see how separate head[with that cab only] would be less cumbersome than combo; need a bag and another hand to carry. Also can fit any LM series amp in slot or most other amps also and have combo amp as backup in bag or get a top for it. If your the type who likes to change amp's and Cab's frequently because you can or on endless search for 'That Sound' then separates are the way to go.
  16. Are you sure TC, Ashdown, Aguilar etc. would preform any better under same conditions? Maybe something that is 2 ohm stable such as Mesa or Genzler [2.67ohm stable] since speaker impedance fluctuates?[8 or 4 ohm is nominal]
  17. Markbass has some nano coated strings Longevo Series both nickel and steel. I use their Ultimate series Soft Feel NPS; they come out of package with a 'smooth'type brightness and stay that way for 6+ months 10-15 hours a week use
  18. I use GHS Pressurewounds lessens Finger noise and squeaks to a minimum, great feel, proper tension and doesn't decrease Acoustic Volume Pressurewound 'Bronze'
  19. I did Sound for my Original Band [not a soundman; so did my homework/research]; I could never get Bass Tone I was content with, only acceptable through PA We used IEM's/wireless and I could get CD/Studio Quality mix; helped keep us super tight and Singer loved it. We had 2 Powered Mackie 15" with Horns and 18" EV Powered Sub. So after a few Gigs I used my SWR Head into 4x10 Goliath Cabinet and put in middle of 2 Mackie's and lowered xover on Sub to 60hz and below and only went to board for IEM Finally Satisfaction not just bass but whole mix out of FOH. But with Last Band I played with [Cover] we did a Local Festival and my Bass tone from FOH by Sound team was best I ever heard it along with great tone from powered monitor in front of me.
