Stiff Little Fingers last night at their annual homecoming gig. I missed Sham69 unfortunately. PiL were also in support. They were OK, but I was never a big fan. Ali McMordie sounded monster, as always. Near the end, they brought on Rory Gallagher's bassist, Gerry McAvoy, for a cover of Gallagher's "The Devil Made Me Do It", which sounded great.

I know bugger all about music production. What is the difference between remixing a track and remastering it?

I know nothing about pianos but reading through some of the replies to this goes a long way to explaining why the pianos in church halls often sound bloody awful.

Any time I see or hear the name "Gary Tibbs" I mentally add "and yours truly".

I was watching an Art of Guitar YouTube video about mistakes in recordings, today. Stuff like "Cannonball" by the Breeders. A lot of bands these days would have removed the incorrect slide up on the bass at the beginning, for example.

I'll not get a chance to listen to it until later, but is it more "Looking through Robert Smith's eyes..." or "She's got Robert Smith's eyes"? 😄
