1. Flea was endorsing so many basses, plus he was probably stoned a lot and forgot about the Wal. Macca? No idea. Geddy , on the other hand changed them around . Steinberger, Ric etc.
2. Graham Noden in Denmark street . same building ??
3. 1st live gig on my Cambridge audio soundbar. Very good sound
4. Obviously , j h is a lot tamer , since pre St anger.. I never really rate kirks solo stuff tbh. I thought it was a bit of a laugh when he was playing leppard and maiden riffs . I'm not a fan of whisky in the jar either . Unfortunately , that looks like it's there for the rest of their days . Sandman has been lame for years IMHO . Nothing else matters is horrible IMHO . They should've played last caress / green hell . At least they never played stone cold crazy again . Still , i expected it to be a lot worse
5. Tech hitch -BBC fault . I agree about them going through the motions. As soon as they started, they meant business this time .
6. Must say , they were on fire . Apart from the technical hitch, and lots of people sticking their tongues out , it was brilliant . Better than Glastonbury ( I know - different crowd). I recorded it on my bt box . Just as well, as I had the following programme recorded also, and due to the technical hitch I could've lost the last couple of songs .

8. Thanks for the imput so far guys . I've been trimming the Heard and am thinking about what bass to use for this . Looking at the steinberger, the neck would suggest it to be an obvious choice. Same with the Washburn status . I have narrowed the choice down to 2! Both of these basses are more ornamental , ( dean taxi /,jack Daniels ). I think what I will do , is take the jack Daniels bass to Denmark street for a setup and ask them to complete the job , complete with new strings . Feel free to tell me 'don't do it ' Times are hard right now , but I hopefully will get it done in a few weeks. Btw; I may have missed something above, but do you still get the same feel that you do on a five string ? I did love the feeling on my old schecter 5 string . Cheers
9. I'm intrigued Rich;) Tbh , the red dots on the neck seem pointless , unless they really do glow in the dark. A sims job is too expensive unfortunately . A bottle green colour wouldn't be bad for the overall finish .or maybe an amber Whats the sound like ?similar to a hohner cricket bat ? Can't wait to see the end result
10. Always a pleasure dealing with Tom . He purchased a six string bass from me,which now goes with the 8 string sold a while back;) Deal in confidence . Mean bass player too .
11. Well, it's great that you've been asked back . You're doing more songs . Also good. The only problem I see, is if you don't go back soon , someone else may nab it . Don't leave it too long .
12. I thought ideal made kids toys , in that era. Tesco was going through a torrid time then . Looks like a poor mans Kay
13. About your space 'thou shalt not steal' . He has sinned! He is the sinner! Tell him politely to go forth, multiply . Failing that, met God sort it out
14. Speed and jack Daniels mentioned in the comments section. Accept no responsibility
15. She is in a bad way , what with her peg legs . Hope she'll be ok
16. I should really know the answer. I used to have a five string , and loved the feel of the low b. Now , as I have many basses I was thinking about having 1 permanently tuned to the above setting. This would obviously involve nut adjustment / truss rod etc. and of course using a proper b string from a 5 string pack . Question is , would the feel be exactly the same as a proper 5,string . Or is it just best to buy a 5? If I did go ahead, the job would be done by a repair tech , probably graham in denmark street. Cheers
17. Your first post is more impressive than mine . I advertised a trace Elliot amp for sale , without saying hello first,) Seriously , you will be inundated by good helpful advice . Obviously , see a osteopath / doc. What I would say though , regarding the shoulder, have the strap fitted so that the bass is exactly the same position sitting up as standing. There should be no difference . Billy Sheehan told me that . It will all be fine. Just hope it doesn't take too long .
18.
Good stuff! My grandad left me a bit of cash when he passed away - as a result I bought my Music Man Cutlass and will never part with it.
Nice story also
19. I was thinking of the riff on the d string , but I stand corrected He did play using all 3 fingers when I saw him in the early days , leaning on the stage . Phantom of the opera , for sure . Doesn't matter really , he's awesome all the same
20. He uses 3 fingers . That's why he does what he does. RF is a number I played by ear,( and surprisingly found it easier than expected). Open e string , frets 1-5 . ( that's most of it IMHO ) When I pickup the bass agin , I must learn the trooper also;) Btw; has anybody noticed papa roach have a bass line on their 2nd single that is very similar to ancient mariner?
21. Watched match of the day, just now and did a bit of channel hopping . It seems to be working perfectly . Odd..
22. Oops sorry. A bit harsh from me .Hope you get one soon and enjoy it
23. ..or has he ?? I decide to use the Bluetooth setting on my Cambridge audio soundstage ,as usual from my iPad . A couple of hours. Ago, I played some you pube clips of Mr Faraud and all of a sudden , the thing was buzzing like large flies - or even bluebottles. Not good! I then played stuff from my iTunes library . Most was ok. Then the buzzing started. So, although I didn't need to, I took out and put back in the audio cable from that to the TV . Now, after playing a few things , including a couple of bass clips on you pube everything seems to work again! I'm just wondering if , like the old NAD amps , there is a self fixing, cooling system installed that corrects the amp at high volumes. ( I think it's called clipping). It weighs a ton , so I don't really want to jump on a bus all the way to Kingston ( not Jamaica) unless I rea lay really have to. I've had the soundstage since December , and up to now faultless . I hate taking things back .
