1. Spent most of the time in the loft , which I'm clearing out. 1 of the cases has loads of power adapters and various stuff which could be useful or junk. Prefer pickup from twickenham .£20
2. Would make a nice Easter present to myself..
3. ..bought a new pair of AKG ''s. Because AKG always give you spare accessories, I now have 2 pairs of phones that work perfectly . If I bought the cable as a connection kit pack, it would've cost around £35 . The new phones cost me £50. How bizarre ..
4. Have 2 bands . Make this band your second band. That way, you will still be friends with them. At least then , you have a gigging band, and a fun band.
5. Glad this sold quickly. A very honest ad;)
6. This scammer, just a tip in the ocean really ..
7.
You can get a similar effect by hitting bed springs with drumsticks.
Oh yes, that as well
8. That was good. My guess, is that he is using something basic like the zoom b2 1.u. Or an amp simulator.
9.
Played there a couple of times, back in the 80s. One of the highlights of my gigging 'career'.
How cool is that?
10. And the winner of that is me now where is the phaser..?
11. That's one of the funnier scam messages I've seen avoid!
12. Just wondering now; what year did this internet pony start ?
13. Not many bands left that I need to go to (Rammstein ,rush, metallica, jarre). However, after reading the Kate bush thread, I feel sorry for those who tried, and failed to get tkts(98%i reckon). Years ago , up until the mid '90s I could either go down to venue and que up on day of sale, or pay a little more through reputable booking agents. Those days, you knew the cost of tkts. Even when you booked from a reputable agent, you could leave a deposit , and collect at your leisure. What infuriates me now, is that even in the ads in the press, you don't know the actual cost of the tkts. You know the rest; added fees made up etc. Do they even do tour posters of bands on street walls anymore?? Used to love trying to peel them off in the damp weather. With all this corruption , isn't there a way that people could boycott this system , and just not go? Maybe the gvt could close these websites down.?!? Last saw the stones at Twickenham a few years ago. We talked about going to see them again . No way . Not with the p@ss they extracted from the punters recently. Mick jagger looks more of a prune than bing Crosby . Wasn't impressed with the Glastonbury performance tbh. As for Bono ' give your money to the starving'' ..he canf@@k right off. Wonder how much U2 tkt prices will be next tour? Thing is, I don't mind paying anything up to say£60 for a Rammstein gig, as you get The kitchen sink thrown in. No pretence. Plus they are only gonna be around every 4 years or so.any way, how much were the Kate bush tkts?
14. For a moment, I thought this was fat freddy's cat. Can't see vids on iPhone . Will look later
15. Yeah, mine's the yellow cabbie;). I thought that the body on mine wasn't maple. Thought it was made of plywood or something similar. Just saw one advertised in the states on eBay , and it seems to be identical Tbh.
16. The singer was a hairdresser ? Have a bump anyway
17. I think the body is a better one than the version I have. Not impressed with the pickups on my one. It is a lovely bass tho'. Wonder what the price is for the reissue ?
18. Forgot to mention the forum ( used to be town& country ) in Kentish town. Great venue. One of the Venus I didn't know much about at the time was the national in kilburn. My one and only gig there was nirvana on an added date of their tour.( don't think it was nevermind). They were brilliant. Nearly forgot the electric ballroom in Camden . Odd venue , but I like it. Makes me laugh to think that, during the day it's lots of stalls selling stuff.
19.
The Opeth 20th anniversary gig there was amazing :-)
Damn missed it. Gotta see opeth again. Btw, forgot to mention shepherds bush empire.. Good venue also
20. Interesting thread. I think the facilities have improved over the years in London . Wembley arena used to be a mess. Now it treats the fans with more respect IMHO . Didn't like the Astoria much tbh.same with the Lyceum . Marquee was what it was and I was young and liked it. The music machine(now koko ) is my fave venue of all time, and the first gig I've ever been to. The O2 is great too, but do not go too hogh up . I did on 2 occasions, and felt like I was going to die if I sneezed. But, the hammy o is probably my second fave place of all time. Not too big, but big enough to house too bands. Not too keen on Brixton academy , but the rammstein gig is best ever gig. Royal Albert hall; great if you don't like metal. The jarre gig was awesome. I don't see many bands now, but will still see my faves at said venues until they implode
21. Do like steel panther. They do seem to be the only band flying the flag of fun at the moment
22. Mcenroe couldn't be in a band for long, as he would always be complaining about the base line .
