  1. I don't bother if it's an item I've bought before and if they've got thousands of feedback already, but I always give it for individuals as opposed to traders
  2. yes I've noticed people don't leave feedback like they used too, but it rings alarm bells when there's very little, the only bad experience I had on ebay was from someone with very low feedback, and if it's zero stay well away. As far as fees are concerned I try and wait for one of their sell for £1 days, as I did this time, and you do tend to get a better price, far bigger market
  3. had no problems with the sale, buyer has confirmed he's received the Bass in good condition
  4. I had a Rumble 500 and went on to a Trace Elliot GP12 with lightwight cabs, could never quite get the sound I wanted out of the Rumble and although it was light it was bulky with just one handle on the top, I've still got the marks on my front door frame, I believe the 800 is the same size, and there have been moans about cab rattle with the 500 as well, I was surprised to find out they didn't use Neo speakers in it so big weight savings have to be made elsewhere
  5. Thanks for the comments guys, decided to risk it, seemed genuine, wanted it for a gig on Friday, just sent it by parcelforce, will let you know the outcome
  6. cheers, checked ID history, just one name joined 19th March 2017
  7. they've just got 2 positive comments, as a buyer, from over a year ago, nothing else
  8. just sold a bass on ebay for £200 + £15 postage but the buyer only has a 2 positive feedback rating, any advice or comments?
  9. not trolling honest Guv, but Morrissey, preferred some his solo work to anything by the Smiths, heresy to some I know, I tried but could never get the Smiths
  10. about 3 times, once the output transisters failed in my elderly Trace Elliot, twice when signal to the sound engineer mysterious disappeared, no fault found with the amp later but I always have a spare available, but as I said I'm using elderly Trace amps. Another amp failure story, our guitarist orange amp wouldn't switch on, he finished up using my spare Trace Elliot (sounded ok according to the crowd but he was not happy). When he took it in for repair it was just the warning light bulb that had blown, the amp was working ok all the time
  11. think the Trace Elliot watts thing is a bit tongue in cheek, what it means is that Trace Elliot are very conservative in their ratings, and I suspect the volume control reaches maximum output way before 10, I don't know because I daren't turn mine up past 4, now if they took a leaf out of Bugera's book they rate their amps at a million watts peak
  12. I'm of the opinion that just because the pedal is capable of all these different sounds you need some discipline not to use them just because they're there, I only scratch the surface with my Zoom B1on but it does want I want it to do so that's good enough for me
  13. because it's cheap, and sometimes it may well do the job for you
  14. the only way you can decide on an amp is to use it in a band setting, if you play in a band that is.
  15. I may be wrong but wasn't music power when they added together the 2 channels of peak power? i.e. 500,000 watts peak power per channel = 1 million watts music power
  16. another ruse amp manufacturers use is to give the headline output figure when at 4 ohms, which is ok when it's an amp head, but, for example the Fender Rumble 500 V3 combo is only that when used with an extension cab, they're clearly trying to mislead people and hoping they don't read the specs properly, well, if they buy something without doing the research, more fool them
  17. If it's in a hard case I think Parcel Force will insure it, I recently sent a guitar via them and looked into it, DPD seem better than average, good tracking and they tell you when it's going to arrive on the day, but they've all got horror stories, depends on the driver
  18. this is oh so true with everything from Bass gear to women (or men)
  19. you're more likely to blow a speaker by turning up an unpowered amp too much, as I understand it
  20. whats the latency on a 10 metre lead?
  21. she did Last Train to Clarksville apparently, to me her bass lines seem to stand out more than others, probably because she used a pick, now where's that tin hat?
  22. it's all in the fingers
  23. I did recommend the Line 6 G10 but have discovered a design fault where the power supply plugs in, it is a mini USB plug (similar to a phone) the socket is just attached to the circuit board, it becomes loose with use and easily becomes disconnected, just like a phone charger. Shame, apart from that it is a well thought out piece of kit, I've solved the problem (hopefully) by fitting a bracket, but I shouldn't have too
