  1. Thou shalt not murder. See also Thou shalt not envy thy neighbour's pedalboard, nor his fretless bass. 😁
  2. This is the last one, as I really do need to practice for Sunday 😁 We need a list of who's going and on what day, similar to the attendees for a Bash
  3. Especially for @Jackroadkill:
  4. Quick starter ideas for badges, let me know what you think. I've got some ideas for (slightly corny) slogans as well. These will print fine at the right size for a typical lanyard, so I'll create a PDF with all the final variants on and upload it. @ped - I may have asked this before. Is the BassChat logo in a particular font?
  5. A nice antidote to dealing with frustrating device driver issues this morning. 😎
  6. I don't know which day I'll be going, and probably won't until Friday evening. I've got things on both mornings. If I remember I'll wear my Bass Bash t-shirt, which would cover up the nipple clamps. We could make up some BassChat badges in standard ID size. I have a slowish day today, I'll see what I can design and post a couple of ideas here.
  7. Walshy's died and you're appearing on Strictly??? 😭
  8. P.s. check out the events thread. You're possibly not too far from the NW Bass Bash. If you can get to a bash then do so, huge fun and lots of people to talk about basses with.
  9. Welcome aboard! Lots of helpful folks on here, and no question too dumb. I know I asked loads when I started playing a few years ago! If you're brand new to bass then I always recommend StudyBass.com. It's free, though you can pay more for additional examples, but more importantly it is very solid on the basics. Like how to play without injury. I also really like Scott's Bass Lessons. That's about £80/year. He is a bit marmite - especially the free stuff on YT which is very in your face- but the quality of the paid teaching courses is excellent. Nice bass BTW. 😎
  10. I have borrowed an early 1970s Rickenbacker 4000s. It is fabulous, sounds absolutely huge and is light years better than any other Rick I have ever played. This has cured any GAS I had for owning a Rick, because I know the owner would never part with this one and I can't imagine finding another that's this good.
  11. They won't allow fat basslines anyway. (I'll get my coat)
  12. I really enjoyed reading that - and what an excellent finished bass.
  13. Brilliant - I'm stealing that! 😁
  14. There are a lot of us here who play primarily (or exclusively) in church and it's a tremendous privilege to lead worship, and we do like to celebrate that. If you've read a bit of this thread you'll appreciate that quite often it's also a place to let off steam or ask for advice on "situations." Cahon and organ? I would have done the same as you and just enjoyed singing 😁
  15. Thanks for posting that. More details in that interview than on the BBC.
  16. An excellent moto for bass players, as well as for programmers.
  17. This post cannot be displayed because it is in a forum which requires at least 1 post to view.
  18. I feel your pain, I do think modern programming is so much quicker than all the low level stuff I remember. Started programming on a ZX81, so yes I remember when memory was tight, men were real men, programmers were real programmers and small furry creatures from Alpha Centuri were real small furry creatures from Alpha Centuri.
  19. Welcome aboard! What does an an acoustic guitar sound like through that rig?
  20. The Fender is OK, but I definitely prefer @Andyjr1515's bass.
  21. Welcome back. I'm off to the build diaries... 🏃‍♂️
  22. And if @Geek99 is run over by a Maserati test driver while hitchhiking through Italy, disguised as a nun to evade intepol, on the way to make his purchase...? Silly jokes aside - it is a thing of beauty.
