Grand Master and other rankings only reflect the quantity of posts, not the quality, as anyone who has read any of my drivel will attest. @Bill Fitzmaurice is however a proper expert 👍

Lightweight Stingray…..guess what the wood is?

The luthier said with annoyance My customer dislikes chatoyance He wants a P-bass in white No real wood in sight But I craft with far more flamboyance! -
Nothing useful to add, just following with interest. 🙂

As I have ranted previously on this forum, the main reason I dislike B&Q is the appalling music they play. Dire cover versions of good songs. I walked out a few years ago because they were playing an easy-listening smooth jazz version of London's Calling. That red port looks the business though. If the cab is black TuffCab and you design and print a red "BC8" logo to go in the opposite corner it would look very cool. Red paint on the screw heads of the speaker too.

What are you listening to right now?

And now for something completely different . -
I did like Skipton. I think it was there that had the most upmarket Oxfam bookshop ever, no cheap paperbacks but first folio editions of properly expensive books. None on bass cab building though 🙄

My son volunteered at a youth camp near Grassington for a year after uni. They referred to Skipton as " The big metropolis"

That is interesting. Had I realised what you were doing I would have been interested to know what was under the covers of my Brawley and how balanced they are. Where can I find this magnetic paper?

Very nice! -
Sky Arts and other music related programmes
Richard R replied to PaulWarning's topic in General Discussion
Both available on iPlayer as well. I watched Flight 666 a couple of weeks ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. The contrast between Dickinson in stage costume performing and in his pilot's uniform doing the pre-flight checks made me chuckle, as did the band playing golf. I still don't like the music, but the programme was good fun. -
Or The Carpenters' version: "Every time you go away, you take a piece of teak with you."

The mind boggles!!! What was going on there @stewblack?

So here is an unashamed plug for the Midlands Bash in June. We have missed a couple of these and have moved venues, but hopefully 2026 will be the start of a long and stable run. Anyone up for catering?? 😁

Just noticed what it says on your t-shirt @neepheid! 🤣

Please pass on my thanks again to your wife. I'm not vegan, but I shall have a go at the spanakopita sometime soon.

Look what was awaiting me for dinner. Red wine and More crumble! Sometimes life is good.

Some photos, while topping up the car with electrons. @rwillett 3D printed bass My gear. Everyone who played the V-bass enjoyed it, so worth bringing. @Stub Mandrel , playing heavy metal guitar Classic!! The second iteration of the Roland V-Bass system, plugged into @derreybass's beautiful handmade bass. @Phil Starr's cab shootout. 8" speakers rule. (IMHO) Idiot with Lego bass Part of the National Scottish Collection of Bass Guitars, of which @neepheid is the custodian. @Mottlefeeder's cricket bat. Very comfy with the strap button moved.

Just stopped at Sedgemoor Services for a quick pit stop. 🚗 ☕

It's a bit like "I've good wood", but the anticipation isn't as much fun and mostly it comes the next day.
