You didn't say if your singer is male or female, or if your guitarist is rhythm or lead or both. These are maybe less well known and probably work best for female leads. I tried a bassboard at the guitar and bass show in Solihull earlier in the year. It was excellent, and I have added one to my ever expanding list of things I want to build if I ever have the time.

I think @itu is right. A standard 9V battery can't supply huge amounts of current, and between any losses in the step-down circuit and the start-up draw of the pedal it probably can't cope. You can try it from the 9V pedal supply, that ouught to be able to handle the startup current. If that doesn't work then it may be the lighter circuit is a problem. If none of that works then an alternative could be to use a USB power bank as the 5V supply, strapped under the pedalboard.

Nearly there folks! Looking for something completely different I found the above advice from @Geek99 to a 15 year old posting in the Introductions thread in 2020. As he never posted after mid 2021 I assume the young man took the advice. Or post-covid discovered beer and girls and gave up the bass?

So that's the reason for the stupidly large headstock on Fenders? Cheaper than changing the neck construction, I grant you, but it's a decision that resulted in a fugging ugly design. I am intrigued though. How do you determine if a neck design will have a dead spot, and where? Or know that putting more mass at one end will change that?

Worst purchase: set of Ernie Ball strings I bought on a whim at the guitar and bass show and haven't put them on. Second place best: the Smoothhound wireless kit I took in px when I sold my EBS Session 60 amp. It buzzes and plips like anything on stage, but in my practice room it's silent and means one less lead. Which makes it easier to pick up the bass and practice. Best purchase: In person lessons! I don't practice enough in the week to get the maximum value (blame the job) but I am slowly and measureably improving stamina and repeatabilty and adding to my technique. Big shout out to Chris at at The Instrument Factory in Newport Pagnell.

Looks the business, but the minimum order is 70 yards!! I shared the suggestion of pulling the tab to see if the grill comes away. If it does then her Mum will probably replace the fabric (Dad is blind) and can discuss options with the daughter. She wouldn't take a cab apart though.

I hadn't spotted the black tab, my EBS had the same thing. In that case it will be dead easy. You're right though, the time consuming bit will be the staples. Will let you know how it goes.

Hi All, A friend of mine has a well loved Fender Rumble 40 which she uses as an on stage monitor at church with the DI to the PA. However the grill cloth is damaged and needs replacement. Her dad wants to do this as a surprise, and seems to think I might be competent to help! Fender style cloth will cost about £40-£60, but I don't think she's fussed about an exact match on the cloth, just the grey colour, which means cheaper options are available. I thoroughly enjoyed that, I left it playing on repeat while decorating. Indie pop isn't my genre really, but as others have said, had an 80s feel, and could almost have been Blondie in a couple of places. There were some neat turns of phrase in the lyrics, particularly in the latter songs on the album.
