    I'd love to attend a 2024 Bash and would be happy to book the 2023 location in Nottingham, if that is what people want, but I'm afraid I won't be able to get involved in any of the organisation this time: I'm about to start a new job and have very little idea of my availability over the next few months, as it will involve shift work.     I seem to have inherited/ended up with a set of Rotosound Steve Harris flats. I can't tell you much about it, other than that they are heavy-gauge at 50-75-95-110, because I've never tried them and, indeed, have never opened the pack. These are £45 on Amazon (bear with me!); £45 on Andertons (but out of stock); unavailable on Bass Direct (apparently they don't do Rotosounds at all); unavailable on PMT; but - wait for it - £59.99 on Strings Direct. Probably tells you all you need to know about Strings Direct: not that they take the p*ss, but that you need to check first before buying, particularly with unusual or recondite gauges. Anyway, I'm not going to upset my Shuker setup with these, but you might want a heavier, thumpier flatwound for your signature tone. Why not? Worth a try? Pete

    Very tempted and definitely a great price - but 11lb is a deal-breaker for my glass back, sadly. I'm sure that won't be a problem for younger, fitter BC-ers though! GLWTS.

    I was bought one for my first bass five years ago. I traded it in for a SUB Stingray after about six weeks. I loved the Ray, but wish I'd kept the acoustic for noodling, if nothing else. I do though seem to remember some sharp fret ends. But to answer your question, of course you do! 😊
