  1. You mean the even more worried men! That's a shame, though. See you next year!
  2. Brilliant expression - I sooo know what you mean! Lovely bass - GLWTS.
  3. I do think that Adrian M has nailed the optimum balance between quality and price (not the only one, but among the best). If I could only manage 4 strings... (sigh). GLWTS.
  4. Can't believe this is still here. Maybe just got caught up in current cost of living/Christmas expenditure hole. Having just had a Shuker made for me, I'm not currently in the market, but GLWTS anyway.
  5. Well spotted! Though it's a slightly customised version, which Jon and I decided to call the "Nuclear Device", after the Stranglers' track of the same name - slightly narrower at the nut (more like a jazz width for my small hands). And yes, the awesome East pre-amp: so many tonal variations, I'm still exploring after three months of ownership!
  6. Gorgeous bass and superb upgrade. Shame you can only "like" here - I could happily have used a "love" button!
  7. If you can't trust it, that's that. So far, I've had zero issues, but I haven't yet fired it up in anger outside the house, so I'm quite prepared to return it if anything shows up. I guess that's why we piled in - the 180-day return option, which I'm even more grateful for, given your experience. Fingers crossed, one way or another...!
  8. If you know… you know. This is an incredible combination – certainly, as it turns out, too good for my modest needs – in mint condition (see pix) and aching to be gigged. During my limited time with it, it’s left the house about three or four times a month for band practice, rehearsals and improv nights, and I’ve barely touched the sides (as you can tell, by the pristine condition of the Tolex!). The combo is 300w without the extension cab and 500w with it (at 4Ω). What you get out is completely transparent – and the articulation is so clear, you hear the sound of your bass with little colouration: what you put in with fingers or pick (or, I guess, bow) is what you get out, and it really pushes through and stands out in a mix. One thing I found particularly useful is that the two channels allow you to plug in two basses at once and EQ each instrument to your separate tastes. I’m afraid I no longer have the original boxes, so I’d much prefer collection – shipping might be prohibitively expensive anyway, but nothing is impossible. I’m in Nottingham and prepared to meet anywhere within an hour’s drive from here. I’d prefer to sell the entire rig as one for £850, but might be prepared to split at £600 for the combo and £300 for the cab. It comes with a power lead, a Speakon cable (if you go for both the combo and the cab) and downloaded manuals, plus the somewhat skimpy “professional” slip-on black covers. I might be tempted by a trade (against the cab) for a Barefaced One10. Try me, anyway! I'm not in a great hurry to sell these, so if it's a matter of waiting until the end of next month for payment, that wouldn't be a problem; for a deposit, I'd simply mark it as "on hold" until you're ready to complete. I should say that I reserve the right to put this up on other sites, but the price here is at a discount for BC-ers. 9. Isn't that part of the fun? Lovely piece of kit though - GLWTS!
  10. You've done everything to this that I should have done when I had one three or four years ago! I hope your sale goes through - it's an absolute bargain!
  11. What a beauty. Are you sure about this price? - seems an absolute bargain. GLWTS anyway.
  12. So far so good - no scratchiness, no clicking comp. However, has anyone got any ideas of where I can find a suitable gigbag for this amp? I wondered what others are using... Any suggestions gratefully received!
  13. Mine has just arrived - got in under the wire! It was so cold from the courier's van that I'm literally letting it warm up to room temperature before even connectng to the mains. Gives me time, I suppose, to study the typically skimpy manual. Fingers crossed re pots, etc.
  14. But don't bother with Wikipedia, which refers only to the electric and acoustic guitars made under the same brand in Korea for the US company Samuel Music, based in Illinois. The Talkbass forums are much more informative. Lovely bass, by the way - GLWTS!
  15. I've always wanted to try one of these - their reputation is first-class and yours looks wonderful. Have fun with it!
  16. Awesome! I bet you needed a lie-down after taking the pix! GLWTS.
  17. There's a Sterling Ray35 on here at the moment, think it's @Leon C 2 who's selling - might be worth a look? GLWTT!
  18. Still, look on the bright side, that's £70 saved all round, thanks to @stewblack😊
