  1. Who organised that one? I've only been to Doveridge and last year in Snottingham.
  2. This is just beautiful - the fact that so few people seem to have clocked it so far is a bit of a shame. Your price is very fair and you have taken a great deal of trouble with your ad, both in terms of the description and the extensive visual record. I'm sure this would attract far more than you're asking from some of the well-known collectors in the States: much as I love BC, there does seem to be a lot of love for vintage Fenders and Wals, but not enough for something truly historic and characterful like this. Good luck with your sale - I only wish I had been in a position to take this off you.
  3. I honestly would, but a) I'm not down your way very often (my daughter's in Margate); and b) I'd need to bring it back to my favourite tech before feeling confident about tube issues, etc. I still think this is a wonderful opportunity for someone, especially at the price you're now asking - just not me this time. Once more, good luck with your sale!
  4. Judging by the size of that tennis ball, this is a very short-scale bass!
  5. Seriously under-rated basses - this looks an absolute beaut. Good luck with your sale, it's a great price too.
  6. I have one of these, which has been very popular at Midlands Bass Bashes. It feels incredibly "right", whatever that means, just hefty and not a toy - it's got a presence about it. GLWTS anyway - I can recommend these to anyone who wants to try one.
  7. Did you? 🤣 I'm seriously interested, mate, but I have back and shoulder issues, so have to be a bit cautious about weight.
  8. Hiya. Two questions: 1) how much does it weigh?; and 2) would you ship it? If so, how much for? (OK, I know that's three questions...) PM me if that's preferable. Pete
  9. BTW, could you provide some indication of weight? Many thanks. Pete
  10. Very tempting. I don't know about the serial number, but I was under the impression that Tokai basses were made in Japan. Did they outsource too?
  11. What a great piece of kit and only about half an hour away. Sadly, I'm amped to the gills at the moment, but GLWTS. Someone's going to be very happy!
  12. That's got to be the prettiest "Stingray" I've ever seen! Have a bump - and GLWTS!
  13. Hi all I'm still waiting for the invoice from the people who run the Prospect Street venue, but I've made an interim donation on our behalf to the Nordoff-Robbins music charity. I reckon there should be a bit more, but I'll send that when I have the full expenses to hand.
  14. I have just bought a Vintage Reissued Series Jazz from Jason and I couldn't be happier with the way the transaction has gone. The bass was offered at a great price, it's arrived exactly as described - very promptly - and it was beautifully packed up for the courier. Our communications have been great too, so I can highly recommend him, both as a Basschatter and as a person to do business with. Thanks, Jason!
  15. You'll fit right in! This is the place to find replacements, if you want them. The forums are full of gear and of advice abolut gear. Enjoy nosing around to find what you want.
  16. Seriously, Colorado is a big place, I've heard. Where are you based?
  17. Hi Khaled, the advice from @TheGreek will stand you in good stead, but just roam around on the forums for a while - you'll learn all sorts of things beyong just playing. Good luck!
  18. Sounds as if you already know your gear - you'll be right at home here!
  19. The man is a legend and his basses are even betterer. This looks very tempting but - like you - my Shuker P is more than doing the job. GLWTS!
  20. And my 34" Shuker a super-Uke!
  21. You're right - these are such fun to play and they've got plenty of pizazz - and clank if you want that too. I miss my Daphne! GLWTS.
