  1. Oo-wee! That's gorgeous.
  2. Any aftermarket recommendations, John? (Absolute beaut, by the way - GLWTS)
  3. Oh dear - you might have to change your Basschat handle! These are great basses - GLWTS anyway.
  4. I'd love to attend a 2024 Bash and would be happy to book the 2023 location in Nottingham, if that is what people want, but I'm afraid I won't be able to get involved in any of the organisation this time: I'm about to start a new job and have very little idea of my availability over the next few months, as it will involve shift work. Sorry I can't be more helpful. Pete
  5. This is ridiculously cheap! I can confirm their lightness and loudness, with the classic Ashdown oomph. Highly recommended.
  6. Of course - and he does it with a head-sock!
  7. For some reason nothing happened the first couple of times I hit "submit reply", so I kept trying! Nice to be a record-holder at something 🙂
  8. Anyone seen this before (sorry if it's already been posted in this thread)? This woman plays incredibly - left-handed on a righty bass!
  9. Andy's setup tutorials are good enough for anyone - even Guy?

  13. I seem to have inherited/ended up with a set of Rotosound Steve Harris flats. I can't tell you much about it, other than that they are heavy-gauge at 50-75-95-110, because I've never tried them and, indeed, have never opened the pack. These are £45 on Amazon (bear with me!); £45 on Andertons (but out of stock); unavailable on Bass Direct (apparently they don't do Rotosounds at all); unavailable on PMT; but - wait for it - £59.99 on Strings Direct. Probably tells you all you need to know about Strings Direct: not that they take the p*ss, but that you need to check first before buying, particularly with unusual or recondite gauges. Anyway, I'm not going to upset my Shuker setup with these, but you might want a heavier, thumpier flatwound for your signature tone. Why not? Worth a try? Pete

  14. Oof! That's beautiful, Christophe.
  15. That preamp (the Capo) looks amazing - and sounds it. Never heard of them before, but I'm seriously interested now! Thanks.
  16. I thought he was trying to trade a Hammond! 🙂
