1. Still got this bump! Still only £35. I can't believe it either!
2. Very nice - I do like a red bass. Nice to see another Rickresourcer on here as well, LOL!
3. I had about 4 years off some time back, was back drumming instead. Got the chance to join a band I liked, so got practising! Gave myself 2 weeks of playing a lot (I was on annual leave from work) - and got the gig. Not saying I was Jeff Berlin on the day, but I got through it without any cramps or finger pain! It does take time, but I don't think you can ever truly forget. I do remember trying to play stuff I'd recorded with another band 5 or 6 years previously, and at first not coming close. That was a shock, it is amazing how quick you can lose ability in the hands. Not forget, but not be physically able to play what you could easily before.
4. I'm going to give this a final, Bank Holiday weekend price drop to £825. Free shipping within the UK. I can't go any lower on here than that. If there aren't any takers, then it's Evilbay for this beauty!
5.
I fell weeks ago... ...usual problem, though.
Too many gin and oranges again Mark?!! Just to add I have sourced a potential bass to purchase - so I must have tempted fate yesterday! As such, I would like to get this moved on. If there's no forthcoming interest, it may well be off to the great auction house we know and love. .....but I'd much rather this went to a BC'er, given how good it is.
6.
Free BUMP from me re this bass - it was the soundclips that forced me - yes forced me - to go and buy one of these basses in my fave black/maple combination. The nicest recorded Precision tone I`d heard in a very long time. The quality of these basses is amazing as well.

If it sounds as fantastic as this one, you will be a happy bunny. Bump.
Thanks guys. It really is a bass I can't fault, I've just never really bonded with the mighty F. If I didn't need the funds to go elsewhere, I'd certainly be keeping it. But we all know how it is......! Still £850, free postage in the UK. I'm on the hunt for the replacement - struggling to find one at the mo in the right bracket - so this will here on BC until some lucky buyer falls for her!
7.
Reopened Fender Precision - American Standard Bump.
Many thanks. TBH, I'm just not using it - and I've got terrible GAS for another vintage R*********** to go alongside my '74. Not found one yet, but this would free up some funds.....!
8. I like the album. Some very good stuff on there. Proof that there are some excellent new records being made! I keep meaning to listen to his other solo stuff. I'm a big fan of his last solo album (Renaissance) as well. I'm kind of working backwards!
9.
Hi mate Really interested in this one Are you traveling/commuting to London at all ? cheers Gus
Hi Gus Sorry, no plans to. Can drop off in Ashford maybe? Surely worth a trip for this price?!! One last bump.....
10. How Did You Know It Was Me? (It's a Barry White track, fans!)
11.
But lately the old girl has been coming out for more gigs, and sounds divine.
Great to see the vintage getting some gig time. I always think if you're going to have it, might as well use it! How about a picture?
12. This thread has got me wound up on the OP's behalf! Absolute cheek of the highest order, in the imagined hierarchy of musicianship in which the rhythm section gets looked down on. Never fails to grind my gears.
13. He's been playing an old Rickenbacker 4000 of late. Saw them back in '96 - support was Strangelove - remember them?
14. I withdrew my similar P (Oly white, but maple) as I couldn't bear to part with it! Cracking bass - whoever buys this will be very happy I'm sure. GLWTS!
15. It's a bit fiddly, given the size and weight. If you're in Sussex, you're maybe not too far away from me?
16.
I think from a bass players perspective (and purely my own opinion, of course) that when you play with a guitarist with a single coil guitar it leaves a clear demarcation between the sonic territories of the bass & the guitar which makes it relative simple to get a nice clear bass sound in the mix. The increased mids range of humbucking guitars (PAF fitted Les Pauls seem to be particularly strong in the mids area) blurs the sonic territories together making it a little bit harder to get a distinctive bass voice in the mix. Its not a huge problem but I think it does require a little more fiddling with various controls to get right. Going from a Tele to a Les Paul does seem a bit like going from one trebly extreeme to the mid-heavy other.
Exactly! Well said in far better terms than I did!
17. I think the trouble is our guitarman has a very 'brash' tone - permanent distortion, etc. Not a nice clean sound at all!
18. Is it just me, or do you find that the Les Paul is the most dominating guitar tone around? I've never had problems playing in a band with Strats and Teles, but I always find the old LP has a habit of taking over! Our guitarist used to play a Tele, now a LP through a Marshall stack.Once was in a band with two of them! Found that P-bass sits in well, anything else gets a bit lost in the mix. I always find the tone a bit like a sledgehammer, going over everything. Old band had a Strat player, always sound really well balanced. Maybe it's me, but I'm not a fan of the Les Paul!
19. Blimey! I only have two, always feel guilty for having more than one!
20. I can't think of one bass design I like that was designed after the 1960's....so pretty much all the above posts, then!
21.
I would think that the Fender Rumble 500 v3 would fit the bill. It is certainly within your price band new. I had 10 mins on the 200 version and was pretty impressed.
Massive +1 on this. I've got the 500 and 115 extension cab, and a 40 for home use. Superb amps/cabs, and with the vintage tone selected, these bad boys are just built for Precisions!
22. Sensible offer and it's yours bump!
23. Up for grabs is my Orange Crush 20w practice amp. It's around 5 years old, only used at home (for practice, obviously!) so as such, is in very good condition, just some light usage. No problems at all, I've just purchased a slightly more powerful unit for home use/small gigs, so this is now simply surplus to requirements. New versions of this are around £130, so I'm only looking for [s]£40[/s] £35 for this beauty! Collection from New Romney, Kent. PM with interest! Thanks for looking, SB
24. I reckon 'Close To The Edge' could tick a few boxes. Love late KC (far more than the earlier stuff, all of the Wetton-era records are just sublime) but the songs are quite short for 'Prog'!
