1. I've just picked up Flanker's Barefaced Compact and at the moment I love it, so I'm thinking I might move on my Aguilar GS cabs. I have two rehearsals and a jam booked in this week, so I'm going to be using the Compact and will get a better idea of whether it fulflls all my needs. If that's the case then the Aguilars will definitely be up for sale, but for the time being I'm just gauging if there's any interest out there? I bought these in March from Legion and they are in great condition, the only real issue being where he velcroed a Markbass head which has caused a small amount of "fluffing" on the top of one of them. I really am in two minds as I have had some great sounds out of these babies. I hope Legion doesn't mind if for now I use his pic but I need to tidy up first! Interestingly, the only thing I haven't owned in the pic is what's in the rack head! EDIT: Now for sale - I'm looking for £425 for both cabs. Last night I managed to yank my amp head onto the floor and need to recoup some money for repairs!
2. Oh my god, I love that Maruszczyk! If I wasn't going to LA again in 2½ weeks I reckon that'd be mine!
3. Peter, good luck with the sale and I'm glad the changes in life circumstances is a positive one. Now... how about some pics!
4.
Try this one - guys are friendly if mostly US, and great deal of knowledge - also a good bass forum affiliated with this site. http://forums.musicplayer.com/ubbthreads.p...Board/19/page/1 Also try this: http://www.thestringnetwork.com Geoff
Geoff is correct, the musicplayer forums in general are excellent and the "low down lowdown" is full of great bass folk.
5. If you're joining someone else's band try and be open minded, as your idea of what is a good song isn't always shared by your bandmates or the audience. I play some songs I really, really don't like in my covers bands but no-one would ever tell because I try and be professional about it.
6. At the moment it's a my ex-girlfriend's house full of my stuff. When I collect it I may empty it out and put it back up but I can't really look that far ahead.

What more can I say. Martin is a Basschat legend! Great guy, but you all know that anyway. Oh, and he bought my Ashdown t-shirt in a smooth as silk deal.

10. That was an incredible price for what is a great piece of kit - I would have bought it back for that price.

Traded,

I can't believe Lee gave this up! I remember him telling me how much he loved it the crazy fool.

Sold

Hi Gaff, is that original bridge as to me it looks different to the one I recently sold. Great bass by the way, regret selling mine and will be buying a Jazz of some description in the future.
14. I assumed this thread was created by a troll!! Perhaps it's me (and it really could be) but he really sounds like Bill Bailey - and I don't mean Bill Bailey playing slap bass.
15. Pricing aside, I saw one at the Wimbish\Calhoun gig a few months back in Leamington and it's an absolute beauty.
16.
since my drummer hopeless at holding a steady beat.
I'm really sorry to hear that!!
17. No, he's not in any way the best, but has undeniably been an inspiration to lots of young rock players and may have helped them expand their musical horizons, thereby realising for themselves that he's not the best.
18.
It would be great for a Motley Crue tribute band IMO!
Why? Does it go upside down? Have a bump on me.
19.
Oh yeah.... My Modulus is now in the caperble hands of Rowbee!!! Down to just the Fretless P and this wonderful Shuker
...and in my capable hands it is likely to stay for some time. I am totally in love with it and hopefully now my bass rotation is at an end! First Flea Bass gig tomorrow night.
20. Have you gigged it yet? How does it sound? Looks nice and maneuverable.
21. Man, that 28" bass drum is obscene! I'll bet you could get some awesome Stanton Moore sounds from this kit. Bassists should be encouraging their drummers to buy this - Good luck with the sale.
22. Wow, that is just breathtaking! I agree with you that Mark is a great guy and having met him, I would say his enthusiasm is infectious. It was thanks to him that we had the recent Doug Wimbish and Wil Calhoun gig in Leamington Spa.
23. If I'm not setting up my SA450 with one of my Aguilar GS112 cabs I tend to just plug into my Trace Elliot Boxer 15 which I picked up from Ebay for about a tenner! Sounds great, plenty of warmth and bottom end - until I go through the aforementioned rig and hear how I really should be sounding. I also used to have an SWR Workingmans 12 which was great for home practice but also good enough for a lot of small to medium sized practices and gigs.
24. Mark bought my Musicman LE 2008 Sterling and was very prompt with payment with what was a smooth transaction. It's my first experience of instrument postage and I'm glad it all worked out nicely.
