1. Hi Rich, good price and a lovely cab.
2.
Had an estimate from a local luthier to shave a bit of wood off the neck of my '03 Warwick Thumb BO to bring it closer to the feel of my 95' (Fortress) neck. Taking it from it's chunky 'D' shape to a more player friendly 'C'. It's a rather fat neck and I'm confident stability won't suffer adversely form this mod. Quoted me 150 quid though. Is that a fair price considering that in his own words, when I first took it in, it won't take much to get it how I want it? Does anyone have anythoughts or experience on DIYing it? I assume it's just about patience and time.
Who quoted that price? £150 is a fair price for such a skilled bit of carving and if it's a wenge neck, then that is one of the more difficult woods to work with.
3.
Yep it's a defo sale now... so 'hardshell hardsell'. £60. ?
Bollicks = I've missed this/is it sold?
4. Very sad news, my drummer is in mourning.
5. Glockenklang "Double" 2x12". Total beast. I feel the air cooling me from this, no joke.
6. Fingers crossed, for the end, of the longest, ever, for sale thread, on Basschat, said, in a David Frost style.
7.
Yeah, but you got to watch those guys at Church of Revelations, they're always up for a scrap! Especially watch for the old ladies with facial tattoos and scars - they're the veterans
Do you live in Rock Ferry?
8. I'd rather staple my tongue to my foreskin that sit through a Wooten gig, with all those middle aged men fawning over his double thumbing, as for The Flektones, his brother should never have left Milli Vanilli.
9.
Robert Trujillo has always been a monster player but it wasn't until he joined Metallica that he became really famous. Victor needs to join a band like U2 top raise his profile.
The horror, the horror.
10.
Glastonbury 2000 Acoustic Tent, Big Chill Festival, Echo Arena. Watching Earth, Wind and Fire open for Santana in 1976. Santana just couldn't follow it.
You saw EWF in 1976? Respect Sir.
11. Reading 1992, Fisbury Park with the Cult, Brixton Academy supporting Pop Will Eat Itself and playing The Royal Court Liverpool.
12. He he, that's gonna get all the MM and Sado fanboys in a right 2&8.
13. Mr Skank, I'm afraid you are correct, he is a guitar stand.
14. I'm having excactly the same problem with my guitarist. We rehearse once a week and I'm dreading each of them. I show him the song that we will be working on (originals), I play in on guitar, I then show him any riffs etc, as he says he finds it hard to come up with original material. We record it and he has a week to learn it but he would rather be playing X Box 360 in his spare time. He has owned guitars for over fifteen years, I say owned as he can't play the bloody things, I can play better than him with the guitar upside down. Glad I've shared that as it has started to do my head in.
15.
Also just listened to Hey Bulldog ... what about that bassline?
That bassline wins the "Look at these apples" bassline of the day award. No pun intended.
16.
It sounds like they haven't even looked at it - I'd pick it up and take it to someone that does have a clue. If they ask for any money kick 'em in the nuts. Then again they could be hiring it out or using it for their own gigs.
That Sir, is the kind of reply I like.
17. I'm a total disciple I'm afraid. Rubber Soul, Revolver, Pepper, The White, Abbey Road and most of Let it Be have some of the most righteous basslines EVER recorded. I bought Abbey Road remastered last week, the basslines on that album are incredible, on Something, oh dear, totally beautiful. Macca = Legend.
18.
?
Gorgeous bass, if it were a lefty I'd take it.
19. Remove this thread.
