Play hundreds of gigs with sh*t bands, good bands, great bands, fall in love, have fights, see as many live bands as possible, get wrecked, (if it's your thing), get pissed, be irresponsible, make the wrong choices, which at the time you think are right and try to find yourself. NO college course will make you a bassist, it may help but don't rely on it. Have a sound in your head and make that work in your chosen bands. Hi Marcus, I've owned a Jaydee MK and it was great apart from the rubbish neck. I now own a Status S2 Classic, a Fender Jazz, a Korean Squier P bass and a 1980 Musicman Stingray. They are all good basses but for me the Stingray just feels and sounds better and the low end is unreal, add a little treble sizzle and I'm happy.

I'm giving mine a good polish just over those photos.

That is one of the most beautiful basses I have ever seen. I am a total sucker for sunbursts. Nice one Loz.

The first time I heared Mark was back in 1982. My best friend who was a DJ gave me this compilation LP to listen to, it had various British funk groups on it and it had two tracks by a band named Level 42, they were Starchild and Love Games. At that time I had never picked up a bass but had always dreamed of doing so, but when I heared these songs my mind totally flipped, I had no idea what I was listening to, I was 16 and a bit of a post punk kid. I went to see them in 1983, Standing in the Light tour and then I knew I had to play bass. It was a short lived love affair lasting up until Running in the Family, then I totally lost interest but JJ Burnel, Geddy, Macca, Lemmy, Chris Squire, Martin McAloon, Alan Rankin, John Wilson and Mark, amongs many others made me into a low end dweller.
