2. I like the way Fagan and Becker interview the band members and in the taxi with the backing singers is funny.
3. Good price for a great pre.
4. Do you have children with pencils?
5. What kind of endorsement deal was it?
6. Funk and punk? Same thing isn't it? I saw Living Colour on their first tour and the Chilis on the Mothers Milk tour. Living Colour where light years ahead musicully but the Chilis were a band who were living in the moment. They were brutal, f***ed up and not arsed about performing a cohesive show, they were amazing.
7.
Sorry mate, but that's a vile slur against BGM.
OK Pete, I'll buy a new and improved copy and see if there is an improvement. My subscription ran out with the Flea/Fleabass promo issue.
8. This pedal is pure concentrated evil.
9.
May have posted this somewhere before, not sure. This is what I've been using for most gigs near on 7 months now, RH450+S212. Tend to favour my Jazz Deluxe at the moment (no mods as yet) and love the sound. Someone did say they felt the RH450 was voiced with a jazz in mind. Having said that my Clover graphite 5 and Spector LX5 sound wonderful to.
That is sooooo left handed.
10.
Very nice, mate. But... You play with a pick?? GET OUT!!! :snob:
Errrr, Steve Swallow?
11. Gwen McCrae, sweetness. I'm funkin' now.
12. Here's Jerry, he's about 5, we think.
13.
Basically looking to get a new bass amp (inc cab) or a combo, my budget is about £700-800 and would prefer something big'ish (as im 6"6 and dont want to look a pratt with a really small amp) and like alot of control over tone... i.e graphic EQ. if anyone could help me find something preferably new, 2nd hand or advise me what amps are good to go for in the price range would be well appreciated.
What is that in your hands? We have many gerbils and a Chinchilla.
14. Valves ahoy sailor!
15.
I've never played in a Bon Jovi tribute, but I was fired from a covers band for playing Living On A Prayer really badly. And, true, I was shocking. But what really decided them was that my facial expression while playing it suggested I "lacked conviction".
Skank, if you're "half way there" AND lacking facial conviction, I'd be worried.
16. That is sexy
17. The guy I bought my Status bass from (Dr Das-Asian Dub Foundation), had 3 black Status S2s, so now he has twins.
18.
Its different for different basses for me. I am trying not to get my ACG bashed up but i am gigging it and i am, shall we say, pretty lively on stage. I guess i don't mind if one of my basses get hurt when gigging but if i mark them through my only stupidity i hate that.
I swear to God, if you scratch that bass.......
19.
I have BGM on subscription and I think it's improving (almost) every month. I enjoy it. I'm afraid I also buy BP (almost) every month, and that seems to be deteriorating at the same rate. I guess it's like self-harming: I know I shouldn't do it, but nothing else gives me the same buzz.
That, is a classic quote. But seriously, stop buying both, they're sh*t reads. I have BGM near the crapper and I read the back of toilet products before them.
20.
I've always tried to avoid being anti-slappist as I quite enjoy playing the odd bit here and there (and often very odd), but Jack's analogy is spot on. If I played that to a bass player, s/he may or may not be impressed, but if I played that to one of my non-muso mates. I'm pretty sure they would simply say "so what....". I've always felt that any performance that relies on an appreciation of the technique to appreciate the end product misses the point, and I think that the vid in question, irrespective of the hours of practice and dedication that were required to perform it, exemplifies this. Having said all that, I'd still love to be able to do it Chris
Chris, you are such a nice, well mannered poster. I too would like to be able to slap like a man posessed but at the end of the day, I have a rather large cock, as I'm sure you have.
21. That is sick as f***, I would love a lefty Berger.
22. I love it, more pics please Wayne. Swing? I meant sofa.
23. Steve, I saw the amp the other week at rehearsals in Liverpool, it is utterly beguiling.
24.
Since someone else posted it No idea who this is but this is how the logo on my Matamp GT200 will look when I can afford it.
http://www.myspace.com/draggedintosunlight
25.
Does it have noisy fans ?
Kev, I use the PLX 3102 and it's not that noisey, not as noisy as the Crown.
