1. This thread reminds me so much of this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WcGUWl43y0w
2. Klang, honk, tweet. Pete knows what I'm saying.
3. Very nice.
4.
Is that just the number on Status' contact page? Gave it a call earlier but everyone must have gone home. I don't want to have to wait the whole weekend before I can fix it.. argh  I guess I'll just have to be patient.
Take it to Keith and the boys at KGB Music in Birkenhead, Barry will sort this out for you, he's just repaired a very poorly Steinberger guitar neck. Tell them you need it done ASAP, otherwise you'll go into the queue of Doom.
5. What kind of Status is it. Super Glue won't work. Show us a pic if you can. Steve.
6.
That 78 Jazz in blue looks a bit like Les Pattisons of the Bunnymen, very nice!
Good call.
7.
Now that's interesting. The guy I bought the old SII from in the Wirral had a Geddy Lee with the Audere pre installed. That sounded amazing! Get it installed, mate
He now has a Status neck attatched to it and it is a killer bass, oh, and it has DiMarzios in it too.
8.
Only goes to show that money and taste don't necessarily go together!
Yes.
9.
My rig with the latest addition, a totally great LabGruppen 1000 poweramp. I hadn't really expected a huge difference compared to running the Ampeg pre into my trusty EBS HD350 head, but even at medium volume levels the LabGruppen sounds fuller and sweeter. It plays so effortless it's crazy. Downside is weight of course, but it's well worth it once you plug in!
Great set up, you can't beat a bit of power under the bonnet. Here's mine.
10. You're all insane, insane I tell ya.
11.
Allo Yes, the original is a totally unique instrument, nothing like anything else out there. I've got JJ Burnel's old XL-2 - the legend has it that he got fed up with breaking instruments such as Yamahas and thus wanted a bass that was `JJ proof'. He went to the Bass Centre and they suggested the Steinberger. He liked it and said, how strong is it then? The sales guy said, `hit it against the wall' so JJ tapped it against said brickwork. `No, hit it' and he whacked it like a baseball bat into the wall. Took a chunk out of the wall - bass was fine! I've thought about selling mine too but every time I look at it, I think, `extremely rare, iconic, classic, now vintage instrument, once owned by a modern bass legend'. £3k anyone?!!! Nick
Hi Nick, why in f***s name did you have to post this? I'd would love JJs old Berger.
12. 1980 Stingray, best playing bass I've ever had, deep, deep snarling tone. 1986 KGB Musical Instruments Status replica, indestructible, 23 year old friend. 1998 Fender Jazz, Jap, EMGs, East J Retro, Badass, dirty bitch. 2003 Status S2 through neck, disappointing eq, plays beautifully, neck pickup beast. 1995 Squier Precision, flats, EMGs, funk machine. In that order.
13. Are you related to my drummer? You sprayed primer on your swing.
14.
Tears for Fears used Pino. Case closed. Freur used Pino. Case closed. Interestingly (or not) Freur became Underworld - "Lager lager lager lager" (Born slippy) Pino - bringing bass goodness wherever he goes.
Pino is a dude, as for Freur, I remember them, very left field...doop, doop.
15.
What body is that? I want one.
Probably a Warmoth Thunderbird.
16. It looks to be ok, except some clown's fitted a door handle to the side of it.
17.
Slave to the grind gt200 into berg nv610
Hard on for it.
18. Keep your kidneys mate, total poseurs bass.
19. It won't sound stupid through your Berg mate.
20. Love that Pete, great stuff.
21. Just got back from The Matthew Street Festival and I was watching a friends band play at The Varsity pub in Liverpool, on Hanover Street. He was using a Stingray, into a Little Mark head, into a smaller Mark Bass 4x10. Sounded quite good. Very bassy and the sound travelled to out on the street, about 100 foot away. Good stuff.
22. Good job there my friend.
23.
Never mind the amp, how much do you want for the fireplace?
Nice fireplace and floors, much like Chateux D'Soar.
