Another option would be to speak to Mr @KiOgon who could suggest a replacement wiring loom (he knows about these things! )

Hi Wishface It looks like the wire highlighted has come adrift & needs re-soldering. THis may be something that you can do yourself, or if you're not confident, maybe a friend with a soldering iron & who knows what he's doing. Failing that, where in the world are you - a fellow BCer might be able to help. Good luck!

I always take a bass if we're on holiday in the UK, but probably never if we go abroad - too much hassle at the airports! Short scale Gretsch is ideal for taking in the car for a few days
