  1. I appreciate it all the same!
  2. Same. Years back, I was in a band called 'Today's news, tomorrow's chip-wrapper'. Never had much success - we were rubbish!

  5. The suggestions of Insure4Music sound good - I might take a look myself. 👍 Check your household insurance policy first - you may be covered anyway; my household insurance covers everything in the property, and up to about £2k outside (ie. at a gig / rehearsal). I hope you get your stuff back intact & soon - very worrying Good luck 👍

  7. NO!!! There are RULES!!! And they must be followed!!! Deviance will not be tolerated!!!
  8. Exactly! Just as 'jazz cigarettes' aren't just for mirth-hoovers with black turtle-necks & goatee beards By-the bye... The origin of the word "jazz" has resulted in considerable research, and its history is well documented. It is believed to be related to "jasm", a slang term dating back to 1860 meaning "pep, energy". The earliest written record of the word is in a 1912 article in the Los Angeles Times in which a minor league baseball pitcher described a pitch which he called a "jazz ball" "because it wobbles and you simply can't do anything with it". The use of the word in a musical context was documented as early as 1915 in the Chicago Daily Tribune. Its first documented use in a musical context in New Orleans was in a November 14, 1916 Times-Picayune article about "jas bands". In an interview with NPR, musician Eubie Blake offered his recollections of the slang connotations of the term, saying, "When Broadway picked it up, they called it 'J-A-Z-Z'. It wasn't called that. It was spelled 'J-A-S-S'. That was dirty, and if you knew what it was, you wouldn't say it in front of ladies." Mr Fender probably had this in mind more that 'jazz music' when he named the Jazz Bass. Just sayin'
  9. I bought this a while ago just out of curiosity when I wanted to loop a bassline with an arpeggio bass over it. It does exactly what it claims - no-more, no-less. Good for the money. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Donner-Looper-Guitar-minutes-Looping/dp/B06XKYZW8M/ref=lp_407771031_1_4/258-1655159-0930731?s=musical-instruments&ie=UTF8&qid=1559043719&sr=1-4

  19. If only they made an SDS Yammy... 🤔
  20. Yep - very good with a masonry bit, but equally efffective with a good HSS bit on metal So, in answer to the eternal question, Yammys are good for metal!

  22. 23.05.2019 - clashmusic.com interview: "Deeply passionate about music, his recall is incredible – we’re here ostensibly to discuss Primal Scream’s new singles compilation ‘Maximum Rock ‘N’ Roll’, the band he formed in the late-’70s and guided through indie pop, rave, Stones-esque country soul and beyond..." Does this shine any light on Mr. Gillespie's most recent utterances?
