  1. I think they updated it with the ultra , I tried the ultra but preferred my one, I especially like the truss rod adjuster, so simple
  2. If it’s the right bass I’d say it’s easily done, I think that’s the key thing, I had others but I pretty much played one precision for over 5 years, then one day at a friend’s house I picked up his jazz and just loved it and I got hooked on jazzes, i like owning lots of basses now but I could quite easily if I put my mind to it just play my 71 precision and nothing else , it’s nice to be fortunate enough to have the choice now, back in the day money was tight and buying basses wasn’t a priority
  3. Great one, that was a big tune back in the sound system days, along with this
  4. Alain M has a few new ones on his channel , this is a nice Bassline, Blackheart Man
  5. It’s a tricky one isn’t it, not knowing whether it’s how they are or if it’s something else, i think @beastie had one a few years back, perhaps he could advise
  6. I’ve had quite a few AVRI’s and they have all been nitro and fine, the idea was so they would wear like they did back in the day, they can mark easier than a poly finish one and some polishes aren’t recommended, there’s a bit of info on the old materials here http://www.guitarhq.com/fenderc.html
  7. Of all my jazzes I can’t get any to sound like this 😎
  8. 😁, that’s always my follow up track Frank, so good , promised land just makes me want to pick up my bass
  9. Just have to blast this every now and again
  10. Hi Marcus, I never use the tweeter on my bb2 it’s permanently off as I find it quite a clean sound anyway, have you tried it with it off and the treble up on your amp for the highs you want , do you still get the hiss
  11. Welcome Phil P 👍
  12. I was going to do something similar a while back but I thought better of it as she might help me along the way quicker than I anticipated 😁
  13. Another purchase from clarky, some labella flats, super nice guy to deal with , many thanks, Tony 👍
  14. Very sad news, I didn’t know him personally but I’m sure we’ve spoke
  15. Yeah, as long as there’s no unsuspecting surprises I suppose it’s in the right ballpark for a decent one
  16. Thanks 👍
  17. Have you thought about a jazz elite, I can’t fault mine, probably one of the best jazzes I have
  18. Great one t-h, I was playing an old favourite today
  19. So basically have I got my maths right on this ? bass sold for £2800 buyer premium 24% £ 672 vat on £672 £ 134.40 Total. £3606.40 it also says lots purchased online have an additional charge of the hammer price 4.95 plus vat
  20. I think so , perhaps someone could confirm Buyer`s Premium 24% + VAT Lots purchased online with the-saleroom.com will attract an additional charge for this service in the sum of 4.95% of the hammer price plus VAT at the rate imposed The symbol ** next to a lot number indicates that VAT is payable by the buyer at the standard rate on the day of the auction on the hammer price as well as payable as part of the Buyer's Premium.
  21. Just this minute sold for £2800 , not me
  22. That’s a beauty, congrats Rob
  23. Every morning 😁, nice one thanks I’ll check that album out today
  24. We both posted at the same time 😁👍
  25. If like me you are a Barrington levy fan watching this is a must, I was brought up with his music from around 1979 , a great interview by David Rodigan and you can see he is in his element, @SumOne I think you might like this, Rodigan’s reaction at 25.14 to Here I Come, says it all I also can’t not put this one up
