  1. Yeah they are just for string identification but I have seen pictures of people using them to extend the string, not something I would fancy doing
  2. Think you’re gonna like this one, George Faith around 1977 great rhythm
  3. I’d agree with everything clarky has said above, I’ve had a few jazzes where the silks went over the saddles and to my ears there was no noticeable difference, if you don’t feel comfortable trimming the silks back I think Detroit flats have no silks at the ball end, I personally wouldn’t go drilling out to move the bridge , edit, just noticed they are TI’s , maybe swap strings over
  4. Oh yeah very nice, how is it
  5. I don’t do FB but I could see some pictures, it looked good, they don’t hang around long
  6. I’m on this today, quite a few ghost notes in there so good practice
  7. I think they updated it with the ultra , I tried the ultra but preferred my one, I especially like the truss rod adjuster, so simple
  8. If it’s the right bass I’d say it’s easily done, I think that’s the key thing, I had others but I pretty much played one precision for over 5 years, then one day at a friend’s house I picked up his jazz and just loved it and I got hooked on jazzes, i like owning lots of basses now but I could quite easily if I put my mind to it just play my 71 precision and nothing else , it’s nice to be fortunate enough to have the choice now, back in the day money was tight and buying basses wasn’t a priority
  9. Great one, that was a big tune back in the sound system days, along with this
  10. Alain M has a few new ones on his channel , this is a nice Bassline, Blackheart Man
  11. It’s a tricky one isn’t it, not knowing whether it’s how they are or if it’s something else, i think @beastie had one a few years back, perhaps he could advise
  12. I’ve had quite a few AVRI’s and they have all been nitro and fine, the idea was so they would wear like they did back in the day, they can mark easier than a poly finish one and some polishes aren’t recommended, there’s a bit of info on the old materials here http://www.guitarhq.com/fenderc.html
  13. Of all my jazzes I can’t get any to sound like this 😎
  14. 😁, that’s always my follow up track Frank, so good , promised land just makes me want to pick up my bass
  15. Just have to blast this every now and again
  16. Hi Marcus, I never use the tweeter on my bb2 it’s permanently off as I find it quite a clean sound anyway, have you tried it with it off and the treble up on your amp for the highs you want , do you still get the hiss
  17. Welcome Phil P 👍
  18. I was going to do something similar a while back but I thought better of it as she might help me along the way quicker than I anticipated 😁
  19. Another purchase from clarky, some labella flats, super nice guy to deal with , many thanks, Tony 👍
  20. Very sad news, I didn’t know him personally but I’m sure we’ve spoke
  21. Yeah, as long as there’s no unsuspecting surprises I suppose it’s in the right ballpark for a decent one
  22. Thanks 👍
  23. Have you thought about a jazz elite, I can’t fault mine, probably one of the best jazzes I have
  24. Great one t-h, I was playing an old favourite today
