  1. Very nice looking & great sounding bass... And the photos and videos clips are really good! GLWTS
  2. I'm having to quote myself on this, as I still can't believe this hasn't found a new home!
  3. Actually, I think that was true in reverse a couple of years ago when you were selling quite a bit of gear. As for being at the edge of civilisation, there's many a West Sussex local who'd want to take issue with you on that... But having lived in London myself for 30 years, I think I'm inclined to agree with you.. 😉 😀
  4. Now SOLD - thanks for looking ☺ Hi Folks Continuing my recent gear clear-out, here for sale is my Hughes and Kettner Bassbase 600 bass amp, which comes with the all-important Footswitch and a 3U Stagg rack case to transport it around in. It's in excellent working condition having just been serviced . Now SOLD Apart from my Ampeg V4BH and Mesa Boogie Big Block 750, this amp has outperformed every other amp I've had over the last 12 years, including Eden, Markbass, TE, TechAmp amps and even the much praised Thunderfunk 550. It's also the most well made amp I've had too. If I wasn't moving house soon and didn't need the space, I'd probably keep this. I bought this here on Basschat from dougal back in 2010 I believe, and have used it consistently ever since, and it's done over 250 gigs in that time and never let me down. It's only ever given me great tone, a lot of power and plenty of headroom! The other great thing about this amp, is that it covers just about everything that you need, having two separate EQ channels, a tube pre-amp which really does add some grind to your tone if you want it, blendable FX channel, notch filter, bi-amp facility, DI and tuner out, separate headphone volume control and a mute switch - it really is quite brilliant! The tube in it is the original Hughes & Kettner supplied 12AX7. I've attached some photos to show all of the features, but if you need any more, please PM me... Links See here for more info: And here's a link for the manual: http://oldies.hughes-and-kettner.com/BassBase_600/BassBase600.pdf Footswitch When I bought the amp, it didn't have what they call the Bassbase stageboard for switching between EQ channels, activating FX loop etc, so I bought another almost identical Hughes & Kettner footswitch, and had it modified to work with this amp and it's great because it gives you even more versatility. This cost me about £45 to do in total, being £15 for the switch on Ebay and £30 to get it modified by my local tech. Technical info Power - 650 Watts @ 4 Ohms 1010 Watts @ 2 Ohms Poweramp - Dynaclip Preamp - TubeTouch Effects Loop - serial Switching Functions - EQ on/off, A, B Notch Filter - Yes Headphones - Yes Equalizer - 2-Band Varimetric A/B + Hi/Lo Bands Tubes - 1x 12AX7 Speaker Outputs - 4-8 Ohms Speakon, 1x XLR parallel Dimensions - 19" Weight - 18,5 kg/41 lbs Trades, shipping etc Just to clarify that I'm not looking for any trades on this thanks. Viewings welcome if you'd like to hear it first and I'm happy to ship it at your expense if you are nowhere near the uber-civilised south coast..😁 Any questions, please ask here or PM me.. Thanks for looking! Nik
  5. Withdrawn - it's too good to sell at this price (or even a higher price maybe) !
  6. That's a very cool looking combo, Pawel! Never used one myself, but I bet it sounds great... And a good price too, for such good condition vintage 70s kit. GLWTS Nik
  7. Just sold a Berg cab and a Markbass LM3 to Pawel in what was a perfect transaction yet again... After a few PMs were exchanged, Pawel came round bang on time to collect the rig - which saved me hours in packaging & shipping time - and then, after checking out the rig and offering me good money for it, he had the sheer audacity and generosity of spirit to offer to buy me a pint afterwards!! Which was cool because we had a great chat about all sorts of things, including the very fine art of Tattoos.. So... a perfect gent, a fine player and a credit to the forum - what more can you ask.. Thanks Pawel; really hope you enjoy the rig! Here's to the next one. Nik
  8. Bergantino now SOLD - thanks for all the interest !
  9. Item now SOLD -thanks for all the interest..
  10. In answer to a few questions I've had, it's a 2010, Italian made model. Here's a few pictures..
  11. Thanks Chris... Wise words as ever. ☺ I've put my Markbass LM3 on here today, and some Love Supreme Festival tickets for Elvis Costello and Level 42, and if they sell, then I'll be keeping this one.
  12. That's a very cool looking bass. Chris! Reminds me of a Limelight, but at half the price... GLWTS
  13. Wow! That was a surprise as I've had quite a few PMs already about this.. So, just to say that yes, I'm happy to post the head at buyer's expense, but only if it's a fully insured service - it's too risky otherwise.
  14. ^^ I've no problem with shipping gear abroad, but only if it's a fully insured service.. It costs that bit more, but it's just too risky otherwise. PM me if you'd like any other info..
  15. Hi Folks Markbass LM3 now SOLD. I'm sure most people know the spec already, but just to say that it's a 500 watt, 4ohm Class D bass amp that weighs less than most multi FX units! ☺ I bought it from Herman on here in January to use as my back up, but as my other gear isn't selling so easily, I figure I should try to see if there's any love for this little design marvel of the modern bass world.. Suffice to say it's in excellent condition and excellent working order and was PAT tested in May this year. Hardly used barring a few rehearsals and a one-off local festival in June, at which I think our very own Linus27 made good use of it with his band. Pictures to follow later this evening. Any questions, please PM me and thanks for looking. Nik
  16. Nice vintage looking cab! GLWTS
  17. Thanks ☺ You're absolutely right about the build quality of these cabs. When taking photos of it before putting it up for sale here, I noticed that the speaker cable used internally is the same kind I use for my hifi at home - real top-notch stuff! As can be seen in this photo.. which confirms not only how good the cable is but also what a geek I am.. 😁
  18. Agree with the pick vs finger style idea.. I'd also like to hear something on or like; a) applying some fundamental music theory, e.g. modes/scales, into a gigging band situation b) playing fretless bass (or Db) c) Top 10 gigging tips for weekend warriors Having said that, there's so many good ideas around already, it'll be great !
  19. BUMP for a small price drop to £485 or very near offer.
