Nope; all my gear is gigged remorselessly. Every now and then, if I'm feeling a little sentimental and overly generous, some of my gear may get the occasional clean up with a bit of Pledge and post gig spittle.

+1 to the OP For me, I've had over 12 years and counting on Bassworld, Basstalk and Basschat collectively, and had almost overwhelmingly positive experiences when buying and selling gear. And though there's only been a couple of instances in all that time which had problems - both caused by Courierbot error I might add - things were amicably resolved in typical Basschatter fashion, i.e. through good communications. On more than one occasion, people have loaned gear to me to try out at my leisure and that's been an invaluable resource, especially when that evil-eyed GAS monkey is getting the better of me! Happy to say I've made a few good friends on here too, often through buying/selling, but also at the various Bass Bashes I've been to. Gotta say... the Mods deserve a lot of credit for keeping this place in good shape; without that constantly care and attention, I think it could quite easily slip a little. But most of all, I think it's a great community on Basschat because bass players are all about building good stuff from the ground up, and bringing folk together - it's just what we do! ☺

What song or songs inspired you to pick up the Bass?
silverfoxnik replied to BobW61's topic in General Discussion
Love Blue Turk ! In fact almost any of Dennis Dunaway's bass lines on School's Out are great.. Luney Tune and Gutter Cat vs The Jets in particular. ☺ -
Guillaume has just bought a 90s Squier P Bass from me in a deal that went very well.. He was a good communicator throughout and that always makes a difference in my book - especially when you're shipping internationally, which I was in this case. And everything else went well too, including a safe delivery by UPS within the two day timeframe they promised. So, summing up, I'm very happy to recommend Guillaume to those that don't know him on Basschat. Cheers Guillaume and I hope you enjoy the bass! ☺

Likewise, I bought some DR strings from Darren and apart from being great value for money, they arrived in double-quick time! Would be very happy to deal with Darren again. And to recommend him to all on Basschat. Thanks Darren ☺

Must admit to being surprised that there seems to be very little love or interest for this rig... ..whether that's the gear itself (though Mesa and Bergantino are top draw IMO) the price I've put it up at, or just the fact that stuff really isn't shifting very quickly on Basschat these days, I don't know? Anyway, here's a BUMP for the BANK Holiday weekend regardless! ☺- 24 replies

Thanks for the positive words Chris - it really is a great sounding head. I was using it last night with my custom built Thunderbird and it sounded glorious with the overdrive channel set at about 9 o'clock.. It's one of the few amps I've played where the overdrive channel, if set right, actually sounds better than the clean channel.- 24 replies

Beautiful mojo in that 'Ray, Chris! Love the backplate with the previous owner's social security number etched in - it was obviously a keeper, or meant to be.. I had a '78 Stingrays about 20 odd years ago, which I eventually sold to Martin Petersen at The Gallery. It was one of the most naturally resonant basses I've ever owned - harmonics would just ring for days.. Might just be me looking back with rose tinted glasses, but IMO, there was just something very special about that early Leo Fender Stingrays compared to the Ernie Ball era models (of which I owned a few). Anyway, GLWTS ☺
