    Good thread ☺ Right now, my choices would be either; 'Moonage Daydream' with Ziggy Stardust and The Spiders from Mars, or 'Under My Skin' with Frank Sinatra and The Woody Herman Band (circa 1974) or 'The Light Pours Out of Me' with Magazine Ask me tomorrow though, and there'd be three completely different choices. 😁

    If Gibson really are about to go bankrupt, then I expect that this bass is only going to increase in value! I guess that'll partly be because it's from Gibson's more illustrious past but also because it's such a unique instrument ! GLWTS

    Great looking bass! ☺ Having had a few MTD basses in the past, I think this is a great deal, so I'm surprised it's still here to be honest.. The neck profiles are so comfy on Mike Tobias basses and the tonal range is always good. GLWTS

    That's what my next door neighbours would like a 'bass bash' to be, using my gear! 😁 As has already been said, these events are great fun, very chilled out and friendly and the perfect place to try out loads of different gear.. And, depending on what workshops/guest speakers are there, they're often informative and inspiring too.

    The description sounds lovely, just like the bass itself i expect.. I had a bass with an ebony board and it really did have that definition too. Am I right in thinking this is almost an Entwhistle Buzzard body shape?

    Bernie was special guest at the 2008 Bash at the Holiday Inn, Guilford.. He did a great presentation IIRC.. We also had John East, the then editor of BGM at the time (who's name escapes me) and an even younger looking than he is now Alex Claber, who gave a fascinating 'pre-Barefaced' talk on acoustics and speaker design. Bernie would be good to invite again for sure..

    Yep, sad news.. I'm like OP in thinking that Paul Young always seemed like a good bloke and more down to earth than some of his contemporaries in the music business.. Hope he finds a way through it, for his sake and his children's too. RIP
