  1. Bass sounds great - very cool bass lines too! 😊 GLWTS
  2. Stunning!, 👍😊 GLWTS
  3. That's a fantastic rig at an amazing price!! GLWTS
  4. Have to agree with posts above, that is a really beautiful bass! 😊 GLWTS
  5. 😳🤔 Was that the illegitimate son of Leo Fender, Jim Marshall and Mr & Mrs Acoustic talking?
  6. The name 'Bergantino' has suddenly taken on a weird and slightly disconcerting Mafiosa connection.. 🙄 😁
  7. That sounds great! Nice playing too.. 😊 GLWTS
  8. 🤔 Hmmm.. Let me get this straight. The mother of all bass cabs is your baby? That's a wierd one, right? 😁
  9. Me too. Of course, it's all subjective BS anyway...
  10. +1 Couldn't agree more @MGBrown Over the last 14 or so years on Basschat (and Bass world before it) @owen has always 'given good ad', or should I say 'given very, very good ad'.. He also happens to sell some of the most exquisite gear on here from time to time and is one of Basschat's finest patrons to boot! 😁 GLWTS..
  11. I'm good thanks Pawel - glad to hear you're all good too! 👍😊
  12. He's really good.. They're really good! Hope you're keeping well, Pawel?
  13. I'm sure this has been said already (and I'm very late to this thread admittedly), but what is Gear Abstinence exactly? I mean, is there a 'gear abstinence bosun' that scientists at CERN are actively looking for? Or a team of mathematicians trying to solve the 'gear abstinence conundrum' hoping to win the Nobel maths prize for it.. Something a bit like this one maybe?.. which on balance, sounds quite close to gear abstinence actually .. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yang–Mills_existence_and_mass_gap I mean, when I saw the 'it's the end of the world, help, the Apocalypse is coming! ' movie Deep Impact some years back, there were a few bass players in the final scenes studiously discussing the relative merits of a lightweight bass cab one of them had just bought, musing obliviously about the deep impact such an uber-lightweight cab that costs x thousand quid yet weighs less than - 500 nanograms blah, blah, blah would create in a crappy pub venue with a hollow stage and a big bass trap... 🤔😉😁
  14. Lovely stuff @PawelG - is that your new band? 😁
  15. Good thread this.... Especially for divorce lawyers searching for evidence! 👀😁 So "Your Honour", my roll call of iniquity is as follows: Trace Elliot AH200 (already moved on) Mesa Boogie Titan V12 Ashdown CTM100 Ampeg BXE 115HL G&L SB1 The Trace was a cracking amp and I was sorry to see it go, along with the Hartke HA5500 that I sold during lockdown as well.. Both great amps but I'm really enjoying the V12 and CTM100, so have no complaints there at all really.. 😊 Strange as it's been not having any gigs, I've been lucky enough to be able use all of my new gear for an album recording project I'm doing and that's been going really well and the gear has been perfect for it. Also been doing a lot of songwriting on Garageband with my main band too and that's been a lot of fun. . So much so that I don't think gigging will be the 'be all and end all' that's its been for me as an amateur musician this last 15 years. Songwriting and recording are definitely here to stay for me thanks to lockdown 1.0 giving me the completely unexpected opportunity to rediscover that creative spark again.. 'Small mercies' and 'silver linings' etc, etc. Got to say that the G&L has been getting a lot of use... It really is a powerful and punchy sounding bass!! I've also had the pleasure of having @Paul S 's Sprackenbacker on loan for the recording project and thats an absolutely brilliant bass (thank you Paul 🙏)! Rediscovering that Ric itch after 40 years has been a joy.. What can I say? It's been a mad 9 months, it really has!!
  16. Couldn't agree more with you @owen. 😞
  17. DD is one of my favourite bass players so it's great to see this tribute to him that fabulous Jazz he had back in the AC days... 👍😊 GLWTS
  18. I think the one I had cost me eighty quid on Fleabay.. It was a great sounding bass for the money! File under 'Cool basses I should never have sold!' 🙄🤦😁
  19. Great job @Reggaebass I had one of those basses years ago and I really liked it a lot.. Very comfortable to play and had a good sound too. Hope you're enjoying it 😊
  20. Great stuff @Pinball 👍😊 Liked both tunes, and your voice and lyrics work really well with the arrangements.. The mixes sound fine to me too, but like all these things 'beauty is in the eye (or ear) of the beholder'.
  21. Well remembered @owen! 😊 I don't think I have any of those parts left but I'll have a look tomorrow just in case...
  22. Yep saw that - absolutely shocking! In this country, musicians have been - and still very much are - treated as 2nd class citizens! It was like this 40 years ago when I first started playing in a band, and it's still the same now despite British music and musicians being amongst the best and most important and influential in the world.
