4.
Here's a crappy camera recording from the jam last night. First song is my J, the others are my P. Obviously the flats thing won't appeal to most, but I LOVE THIS TONE. That's one HS210. Can you imagine two?
Fabulous tone WoT; particularly the P Bass... Nice playing too! BTW, what's the stand that your rig is sitting on in the earlier picture of the rig with the J Bass?
 5. Everybody has an opinion; there are just as many people in the world who loathe Elvis or The Beatles (for example) as love them, and they did alright.. The main thing is to do what you believe in and enjoy it!
 6. I played one of these about 5 years ago that Gwilym had (4 stringer I think) and it was superb to play and really versatile tonally.. as well as being exceptionally well made. I can't remember why now, but I did have it explained to me why the headstock has been designed in that way - apparently it makes it much easier to tune and keep in tune IIRC? Anyway - this is a bit of a bargain IMHO..good luck with the sale!
 7.
#3 is my fave. sweet.
+1 How's tricks by the way Steve? NZ treating you well I hope...

Just about enough channels for the Quiet Room at the next SE Bass Bash I think Jack... We can all have a channel each!
 11. Just bought an Aguilar Tonehammer from Mark and am very, very pleased with it and with the way in which the whole transaction happened.. Saw the for sale thread early on Sunday morning...a couple of texts, one phone call and one PayPal payment later and the pedal was with me this morning; exactly as described and very safely packaged up. To paraphrase slazman talking about another Basschatter: "Mark is highly recommended by me. A really good guy to do business with and a credit to this forum." Thanks Mark!
 12.
Bought John's Schroeder 1212L. Having been patient enough to put up with my tentative approach to this deal he never failed to maintain communication and everything was closed out efficiently and quickly once I had got my act together. He arranged the delivery and packed the cab well. John is highly recommended by me. A really good guy to do business with and a credit to this forum.
+1 Just bought a mic from John and had a similar, hassle-free and pleasant transaction!

 17.
If ever you`re passing ,you`re always welcome to pop in for coffee and a sit down with any of my gear!
Thanks for the tea & pizza on Friday, Jon..and for the chance to try out all your amazing Eden gear; including this 212 cab which sounds fantastic! Bloody good condition too. Well, if it weren't for the fact that I have too many cabs as it is...
 18. This is a good one; Jerry Preston with a BC Rich Wave bass in Maceo Parker's band.. See Here I've never seen it before but someone selling a Pedulla bass today in the For Sale forum posted it up as an example of their bass sound and I thought it's so good it ought to be shared in this thread... Apologies if it's been posted before and thanks to Claf for the link!
 19.
Hello ! I'm selling (or trading) my Pedulla-Orsini bass. The sound is very particular, it's really like Jerry Preston's BC Rich here.
That's a fantastic YouTube clip! What a bass player and a great sound..It's a BC Rich Wave Bass if I recall correctly.. If your bass sounds like that, then it's pretty cool! Good luck with the sale...
 20.
I'm not quite sure how to answe rthat really but I will try my best. Compared to my old PM4 that was loaded with the Delano's this bass is not as 'hi-fi' as that. I know that the pickup config's are different but this JJ5 certainly has a slightly more vintage sound to it, particularly when in passive mode. I am pretty sure that this bass has alnico pickups. Hopefully that can help.
Just to clarify, the Haussel pickups are alnico ... here's what they said at Sandberg when I emailed them in December: "hi nik, the pickup is from a small workshop here in germany called „häussel pickups. it’s a real single coil with alnico5 magnetics. Best regards – holger stonjek" I tend to prefer a more 'vintage' tone and IMO, these pick ups are definitely biased more that way, though the pre-amp may also have a bearing on that too.. Hope that helps.
 21.
I can understand you asking that - This is by far the nicest looking Fender I have seen in ages.....! Good luck!
+1 That's a very lovely looking bass.. Looks like Ash to me.
 22. Just to confirm what a fabulous bass this is and it really does deliver sonically! The passive tone itself is superb and the sound from the bridge pick up is so funky it's untrue.. Kick in the active circuit and it gets even better! Alan who owned it before me (and who was the original owner) always described it as 'the tone monster' which sums it up perfectly.. I would have kept this bass if it was 34" scale but being a person who is 'vertically challenged', I struggled a bit with the 35" scale.. If only.. Anyway, I must stop GAS-ing after this again and be sensible.. Good luck with the sale Chris!
 23. Very glad to hear that the Warwicks haven't left the building, Nig!
 24.
Hi, Yikes! Sending this beast overseas would be very expensive. I guess I would send it if you want to pay for the shipping. I have no idea how heavy it is though, anyone? It is the Diesel model by the way in Black Tolex although it has lots of nicks and scuffs. Mine unfortunately (like my Roland combo) doesn't have the casters but I have a specially made board with large casters on that it can be pushed around on Here is a crappy photo of the cab.
The cab is about 150 lbs as I understand it..
