1. Nice looking bass and with the East preamp, it's an absolute bargain! GLWTS
2.
I just bought some strings and a lead from Matt. All went smoothly and all was as described. Matt's a good guy to deal with. Many thanks Matt. Cheers Richard
+1 I just bought a Fender speaker lead from Matt and everything went really well! Good quality lead too.. Cheers Matt Nik
3.
I keep coming back to look at this one...must resist...
'Resistance is futile'....
4. Thanks for the amendment... Good to know there's some interest around... PMs replied to by the way!
5. Wednesday morning BUMP for this most excellent Fender bass!
6.
just found this for anybody interested in TE gear http://www.britishau...e-manuals/c1mt9
Thanks - that's really helpful!
7. Difficult to say as they don't come up for sale on here very often.. I'd PM 'chimike' on here and ask him as he's our resident Acoustic gear expert.
8.
Now THAT'S a cab!
+1 Always loved the look of Acoustic gear - wouldn't mind playing through some too! Sadly, I'd never be able to fit one of these in my car.... Anyway, GLWTS
9. BUMP for what is a very cool bass! Not everyone can afford such a thing (me included), but is is really quite special I think.. GLWTS
10.
Elizabeth Fraser.
+1
11. Indeed... I would imagine that, in the right circumstances, these would create a 'Storm Baer'!
12. That's really funny, Chris.. But quite accurate too, as I'm playing 4 string basses almost exclusively these days. So, in a way, I suppose it's the end of an era for me as 5 string player. My BC Rich Eagle and recently acquired Hayman 40 40 get all the playing time these days. But if you could have a quiet word with the top brass at Fender for me, it'd be much appreciated!
13. +1 on the p/ups being Bill Lawrence.. Nice bass by the way!
14. Lazy, Easter Bank Holiday Monday BUMP!
15.
Superb work there! Will you be open for business and custom orders soon?
+1 Great to see something like this; really makes you realise what alternatives there are, instead of always just buying what's already out there in the marketplace.
16.
My Wal was 30 years old yesterday. I think I will keep it.
Congratulations on the birthday and for making such a wise decision.. I think you and your Wal are inseparable.. My BC Rich Eagle is about 30 years old, and the Hayman 40 40 that I bought recently is almost 40 years old.
17.
and they were awesome. Jack Bessant on bass. Late 70s P bass with a Mesa 400 watt head into an ampeg 8x10. oh my!! It was packed in there and for the first time since I was a kid, I got down the front early (and I mean, the front). Lasted about 25 minutes, it was too hot. What a band, if you haven't seen them, just do it.
What a great story. Always liked Reef!
18. Fabulous gig last night at the St Paul's Art Centre in Worthing, West Sussex. It was a David Bowie Tribute event held to celebrate the musical genius of the late, great Starman himself, and to help raise funds for Pancreatic Cancer research... Lots of different artists played various Bowie songs from the 60s right through to the present day and my band, Replay, did 'Fame', 'Fashion' and 'Rebel, Rebel'. The crowd loved it and it was an absolute honour for me to take part, being a life-long Bowie fan! Also, it gave me a chance to do a 2nd gig with my recently acquired Hayman 40 40, which is such a great bass it's managing to usurp my BC Rich Eagle at the moment, which has been my 'go to' bass for a long time now.. Anyway, here's a few of pictures.. One of the band, one with me and my usual 'bass-face' and one of the venue from the balcony. As I hope you can see, it's a beautiful venue! And a very cool looking bass... Cheers, Nik
19.
I sold a cab to Mike this week. He's highly knowledgeable in all things bass, and was great to deal with from start to finish. Highly recommended!!
+1
20.
If it's any help, this is one of the best balanced basses in the universe and feels nowhere near the actual weight it is. Regret selling mine. Unfortunately, I'm on best behaviour (translate as warning)
Thanks and that is true; the RBVs I've had never felt heavy, even on long gigs. They also sound great too.. Just took this out to take some more photos and had a noodle on it for a few minutes afterwards. It sounds really good even unamplified!
