1. For about 7 years, I played in a band with a 3k rig which we used mainly in pubs. Despite it being a great PA, I still took my own bass rig because my bass sounded better through it compared to the PA with its Mackie sub, which gave lots of sub-bass frequencies, but little definition. Now I play in a band with a small vocal PA and my Ampeg rig with a 115 cab suits it perfectly in terms of sound, volume and footprint.. However I will occasionally carry a 210 cab as a spare just in case! And, if the venue permits, then it gives me the chance to use the full rig I have, which is a treat for me. Yes, it's more effort, but it works for me.
2. I have one of these, albeit without the additional bridge pick up, and it's a terrific bass - especially for this kind of money. Well worth buying as a back up anyway, but I used mine as my main gigging bass for most of last year. GLWTS
3. I have a Schecter Diamond P5 that is so good, I very quickly bought it back after foolishly selling it last summer.. Only my opinion of course, but this range of Schecter basses is very underrated!

6. Having owned and played so many different basses over the last 40 years, I've come to the conclusion that there's no rhyme or reason to this at all... Twenty years ago, I had a '66 Jazz, but I never really got on with it.. Had an 80s Tokai Jazz that I loved. Apart from playing a great sounding Warwick Streamer 5 string at the first South East Bash in 2007, I've never got on with the feel of the 3 Warwick's that I've owned. I also had 3 Stingrays over the years and never got on with the sound when playing them. Had 2 or 3 Wal Custom Mach 1s, including a 5 string, but didn't like them at all, yet loved the Wal Pro models that I've owned.. I've had a few budget Yamahas too - BB300, BB400 models - and really enjoyed them, but last year I quickly moved on a beautiful TRB5P that I bought here that I was absolutely convinced I was going to bond with when I bought it. Like I say, no rhyme or reason! It's been a real blast trying out so many different basses though..
7. Very nice indeed!
8.
Very generous offer, well done that man.
+1 Another example of the Basschat community at it's finest!
9. Great cab! Used to have the heavy version with ceramic drivers.. It was the only cab I've ever had where other musicians commented on my sound at gigs because of it. For the neo version at this price, I'm amazed this is still here. GLWTS
10. Just bought a fabulous, vintage Hayman 40 40 bass from Baldwin bass, a.k a. Stuart who has been an absolute gent and a pleasure to deal with from start to finish. As well as entrusting me with a bass he's owned for nearly 40 years, Stuart was kind enough to drive to my neck of the woods to allow me the opportunity to try out the bass in person before committing to buy it. So, I'm more than happy to personally recommend Stuart to one and all here on Basschat... Deal with in complete confidence, folks! Lastly, thanks for a really pleasant transaction Stuart and for the bass itself, which is just brilliant! Hope you do decide to come along to the South East Bash in September ; it's a great day and I'm sure you'll really enjoy it.. Nik
11. Beautiful!! GLWTS
12. Now that's what I call service!! I forgot to say earlier that your cabs look very well made and are clearly a bargain at the price you have them up for.. I have a pair of 1x12 cabs already, otherwise these would be very tempting indeed.
13.
I've got one of these. Seriously good little filter - dont let the price fool you! I'd be selling the Q-Tron if i were you
I know, they're great.. had three of them over the years! But with a Zoom B3 and the Q Tron, I thought it was time for a change.. Anyway, pedal now SOLD!
14. Hi spyder Have just replied to your PM.. Nik
15. *** NOW SOLD *** Hi Folks Having recently bought an Electro Harmonic Mini Q -Tron pedal, I have this Boss FT2 Dynamic Filter pedal for sale at £NOW SOLD. It's a great sounding pedal and in perfect working order, though sadly, I don't have the original box or a PSU for it.. This is a photo of what it looks like.... The official blurb for it says it's a 'Resonant low-pass filter, with up and down envelope modes and also sweep-able via expression pedal'. It's controls are as follows: · Sens (Min-Max)
Controls how the envelope filter responds to the input signal.
· Cutoff Freq. (Lo-Hi)
Controls the frequency of the filter.
· Q (Min-Max)
Controls the amplitude of the filter sweep (?)
· Mode (Man/EXT / Dynamic Up/Down) Man/EXTmode disables the envelope filter, when you plug in a control pedal in the EXT connector, you can use that control pedal as a wah pedal. InDynamic Upmode this effect is an envelope filter with an upward envelope. InDynamic Downmode this effect is an envelope filter with a downward envelope Reviews: http://www.bass-peda...-filter-review/ http://www.harmonyce...-dynamic-filter There's a couple of very good YouTube demos here: https://www.youtube....h?v=gvc_onllpKs https://www.youtube....h?v=qD5hYrhvkvE Am happy to post this out (or you can collect if you're local) and I guess it'll be about £4-5 to do that.. Any questions, please PM me or ask away here. Thanks for looking.. Nik
16. *** NOW SOLD *** Hi Folks have this quite rare Reussenzehn Daniel D valve Tubebooster for sale, which I'm asking £NOW SOLD + p&p. I did try and sell it a while ago via the Effects forum some time ago, but I think it might fare a little better here on this forum.. Brief history is that I bought it here on Basschat about 5 years ago (for a lot more money to be honest) and though I have used it quite happily on and off since then - either as a volume boost or for warming up the signal chain when using solid state amps - now that I have an Ampeg V4BH valve amp, it's just not getting used at all. This is quite a rare piece of kit that produces a really warm, valvey tone that makes a huge difference to the overall presence of your sound when playing live!! And as a bonus, it provides a significant gain boost which is particularly useful if you use passive basses like I do.. It's currently fitted with a Sylvania 12ax7 from 1976 (that I got from Walbassist earlier this year) which can be bought with the Daniel D for an extra £20, which is what I paid for it. Otherwise, the unit will come fitted with a more generic 12ax7 valve. It was given a full service about 2 years ago and is in full working order.,, It comes with the PSU, which is adapted for UK usage. Photos: Here are some internet links if you want to know more: Reussenzehn website (Look on the 'Musiker' page under bass preamps) Harmony Central Disco Fred's Effects database According to the website, these retailed at 189 Euros new but I'm looking to for £50 plus P&P in the UK, which I think is quite a fair price. If you're interested and want to know more, please ask here or PM me. Thanks for looking Nik
17.
3 years!
Wow, 3 years - is that a Basschat record? Can't believe this hasn't sold; it's such a cool bass! I believe the requisite phrase round here is.. 'Come on People!'
18.
There great bass's very underrated wished id held on to it and not sold it back to you mate...
My luck day, that was!,
19. Yep, Trace Elliot amps definitely eat 3 Shredded Wheat for breakfast! Well, let me know if you ever decide to sell one of you black/maple P basses..
20. I have a Schecter Diamond P5 that is so good, I very quickly bought it back after foolishly selling it last summer.. Only my opinion of course, but this range of Schecter basses is very underrated! Because of that, I'm not surprised this hasn't sold yet, but when it does, someone's going to be very happy with their purchase. GLWTS
21.
Did you travel all the way up this end of the world Nik? If I had known that I would have arranged somewhere nearer to me when we traded my Yam TRB!!!
I did Russ, but only because I happened to be in London that weekend.. It all worked out quite fortuitously for me I have to say; managing to fit an early Sunday morning trip out to Tim's part of the world into a very busy day, picking up a great sounding amp and getting to meet Tim for a very interesting chat in the process.
