1. ......and then there's players like Lemmy....don't know how he is still alive....mind you I don't think he does either
 2. Used to have a Bass POD XT Live which was/is a good piece of kit but I ended up only using one or two of the effects and one or two of the myriad amp models that are available so I sold it on in favour of something more simple. On the floor I now have a Boss Chorus, DOD Flanger and an MXR Distortion Pedal they only get used once each in an evening but they've earned their place. I also make use of my RH450's, eq, compressor and valve emulation via the TC footswitch which also has the built in tuner. All placed on a Pedal Train Jnr board with a power supply mounted underneath and there you have it a nice simple set up that works well (for me).
 3.
Do it! They've suffered price-wise under Warwick's problems, so they can be got for good prices. But then, I might be biased too.
Yeah, it's on my "to do list" let's hope my lotto numbers come up
 4. Streamer 5er for me, then I might be biased However I am developing GAS for a Thumb 5
 5. OK, since you asked here's my 61P in Olympic White or at least it was once. Same age as me, sounds awesome, very proud to own her.
 6.
It is with a slight hint of regret that ive had to sell on some great basses the past few weeks. Originally, I was very happy with my setups, but I found myself wanting different things, and when one of the basschat members said 'why not thin the herd to get what you want' I decided to embark on some serious shuffling about. So far, ive sold my awesome DB212s (8 ohms) and I nearly went for two DB112s, but I got a great quote on a DB212 (4ohm) and it also meant I had spare money to spend on other bits. BUT, the most difficult decision was selling the Stingrays. I have really really looked after those basses. Before the new Fenders came out wit improvements, I was weary of buying them, but now Im a happy owner of three! They aint going nowhere now. The Ps are just perfect, and the Jazz really is that Jazz ive wanted for years, (and is far superior to one I bought from new at a similar price about 7 years ago....which went straight back!) I have been really excited about the Classic Rays for a long time, so one Ray had to go Then, I gave my 5 string yearning a good kick into gear and tested a few more basses. The Ray 5 'works' for me...perfectly. So yet another of my Rays had to go Its very strange looking at my gear to see no Ernie Balls, but thats all change soon Has anyone else had a total change recently? Now I dont own any instruments that are more than about 9 months old. Same with amps but the oldest one is roughly 18 months old, (Orange gear). Massive change, but thats how it is! Now I also think Ive found a suitable workhorse backup bass....Squier Classic Vibe 60s Jazz....so Ill probably get one soon.
Oh yes - I recently my sold two Ray's and an Alembic and now am the proud owner of three Warwicks - I found that they really did what I want, no regrets. Might be in the market for Thumb 5er but not for a while yet... Also recently got myself a TC R450 and two TC cabs, which really work well with the 'wicks...lovin' it! So, yes, a complete change round in under 6 months. Still got my year of birth P-Bass "that ain't going nowhere"
 7.
I have a 700RB-II and a 210RBH and it sounds awesome. It's not as loud as I'd like it to be, but I think that's the cab (the head seems to go louder without distorting into other cabs and the cab seems to go louder without distorting with other heads). I'm sure if I was running it through a 410RBH it'd be far louder. I'm actually tempted to get the Neo 212, either to go under the 210RBH or to replace the 210 completely and then get another 212. Not sure how the 210 and the 212 would interact with each other though so need to look it up. Sorry, I'm just rambling now.
Used to run a 700RBH II through a 4 ohm 410RBH - flapped my trousers no problem , loud enough for almost every occasion I reckon.
 8.
How about hotspot monitors or the version with volume control. Not cheap, but they do have quite a good rep. A
That's what we use, one active which drives two slaves. Very good for vocals.
 9.
Evening all... I see no-one has a bleached blonde on here as yet.. so I'll stick mine up... GASSING badly for a Dirty Blonde too.. anyone got one for sale?
Erm....mine is on here...post 112 Would also like a 5 string Dirty Blonde but they are rare beasties. One day...one day, oh yes it will be mine
 10.
Hi folks Look what the postman just delivered to work, thanks to the lovely Mark at Bass Direct: Ordered it 2pm yesterday.. that's quick! The story: Unfortunately my new car's boot is smaller than my old one, even though it's the same model. Something had to go, and my beloved MPulse got the chop. *gulp* First impressions re: construction... it's a LOT more solid and well-made than I expected (don't know why I thought it wouldn't be). It's a quality bit of kit which feels reassuringly solid, but light. The fitted case is lovely too, and was only 20-odd quid! This is probably the biggest gamble I've made on a blind amp purchase. Most people seem to love them, but a few don't take to them so well. I do know that my previous forays into micro amps have been OK, but I've missed the WHUMP of an old-school power section. I've done my research and apparently the TC is a cut above, so fingers crossed...!
Enjoy!
 11.
Not sure about those guys. I had some dealings with them a while back - admittidly only over the phone - but they did seem a bit blunt, and a little full of themselves. May sound daft, but these things put you off, don't they?
My guitarist had his Les Paul fully serviced there and he was very satisfied with the result. My Warwick Streamer S1 came from them and it was very nicely set up, so they are probably worth talking to at least IMO
 12. Can't help you I'm afraid but I think Neil Murray is a great player - love listening to what he does and have done since his stint with Colloseum II Good luck
 13.
Thanks Urban bassman. He's got quite a clanky tone going there as well for a p bass.
Yes...I noticed that....probably down to his practice amp as much as anything else...mine doesn't sound anything like that
 14.
Most helpful chaps, thank you. Will have another bash at it today
I just found this on YouTube... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sli0l4YCjys Seems to be about there, or good place to start anyway
 15.
With the exception of Hysteria by muse are there any other mainstream songs that have a distorted bass sounds?
Blur's Song 2 - mucho distortion !
 16.
I don't usually resort to tabs, but I'm struggling with The Jam, Going Underground and need to get it nailed by the weekend for my first rehearsal with a new band. The tabs that I have tracked down, just don't seem right, infact a couple of them are very wrong. Anyone able to point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance. Gary
My band is going to be doing this one soon as well. And I agree, most of the tabs I've looked at (so far) don't seem right either - I'd be interested in a nudge in the right direction too!
 17.
+1 here too. Love mine. Great wee amp.
+1 me too - Good amp, effects as well.
 18.
Why spend time trying to get used to a neck you don't like when you can buy a bass with a neck you do like? I could get used to a stingray neck again, but i don't want to because I prefer my warwick for the neck and a lot of other reasons. I've owned a couple of musicmans (musicmen?), and a couple of warwicks (no ricks though, don't get on with them) and i can safely say i'll be sticking with warwick for the forseeable future.
+1 from me. Recently switched from Rays to Warwicks. Had a Rick 4003 as well, so I can make a comparison to all three makes. I found the Ricky neck quite good but the body was uncomfortable for me. The Rays were/are great basses, still like them. But for me the Warwicks edge it on playability and tone IMO.
 19. ooh I'm the first to say Hi --- EDIT--- .....Bugger.....just too late HI! and welcome....it's good here. Like the LP Double Cut bass...v nice.
 20.
Hi guys, looking for a decent affordable (<£100) power supply (brick) for my impending pedal board. I never realised that they were so expensive!!! any suggestions? cheers
Maplin do one for about £19 I'm using it on my board and it works great, no noise. More than enough for your needs I reckon. here's the link http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?moduleno=31292
 21. [ I read about a guy who's gone and bought a bass that was made the same year that he was, just because. This strikes me as an excellent idea - though I know that really I just like it because it gives me a 'reason' to buy another bass.] Precisely, that's why I got the 61P..... love it!
 22. What like this you mean? Can't recommend them highly enough and no, it's not for sale You have a 3 band eq plus different switching options for the pups = oodles of choice for tone. Take the plunge I say!
 23.
I am thinking of buying a fender strat plus. I was just wondering what people thought of them as opposed to buying a standard strat which would roughly cost about the same??
Used to have one many moons ago, yes I used to dabble in thin strings.... Have to say that mine was fab and a mate of mine had one too and his was great as well! If I were you I wouldn't hesitate to get one if one came up. Hope this helps
 24. Oh...only just seen this thread...I've posted these elsewhere but this is about Warwicks, here are my three beauties. Recent convert Warwick's and can't see myself wanting to play anything else. First up is my Streamer Stage 1 Custom Shop Second is my Thumb Beach Blonde, bought from UK Ken via this site Third (but probably not last) is my Streamer 5 string $$ Special Edition Enjoy
 25.
Do these have any directional issue when stacked or do you get a good even spread around a small venue?
I find that stacking them vertically is great in a small venue, so in cramped circumstances you can hear yourself at ear level when you're standing right next to them and the sound does seem to spread around the venue as well. The cabs are also rear ported so the sound gets out front and back.
