  1. Awesome, thanks @Jabba_the_gut Yes the 5 string could be good, I've always wanted to try one of the headless Hohner basses and this looks pretty decent.
  2. That would seem logical. Looks interesting though
  3. Agreed, he sounds like a twonk.
  4. Oh absolutely @SpondonBassed I actually needed clamps to repair a fretless neck but there was a bundle bargain I couldn't resist as I was watching @Woodinblack 's progress with great interest.
  5. You've already inspired me, I now have a set of 12 clamps and a bottle of Titebond. Next - a router!
  6. Black will look awesome against the zebrano, in my opinion
  7. Recording the gigs and playing back afterwards can be a useful tool - sometimes people don't realise quite how fast they are playing.
  8. Good lord, that's a beauty!
  9. That's awesome, they list pretty much everything to rebuild them!
  10. I am eyeing up a a headless Hohner that needs some work (5 string), either some bridge components or a whole bridge depending on what's available. I also have a 4-string needing pickup surrounds (the humbucker type). Does anyone know if these parts are available?
  11. Did I see that you were selling that @BassBod?
  12. In my best Dragon's Den voice - 'I'm out' I have enough projects, and enough cheap guitars! (and what I really want is a nice-ish 8er) Looking at the depth of the nut slots I reckon you are right about the neck being a bit of a banana...
  13. Ooh get you with your posh gold Gotoh! One of my 5ers has 4 no-names and a slightly larger (but the same finish) Grover, it's obviously a sign of good taste. I've a few of those cheap black ones around - you're welcome to one if it helps?
  14. I had an exchange of messages with him too, he seemed to think that the E and A set of strings were arranged in the correct order but to me it seems like it should be the D and G sets that are right. I wonder if one side could be swapped around - a new nut is needed anyway. What is the bridge spacing like btw? It appears to have separate saddles for the single low and high pair, which is nice! Were you thinking of going for it? I don't inhabit aliexpress - I'm bad enough with eBay and Gumtree!
  15. Yeah I bet it did This is really looking good now, wonky tuner notwithstanding...
  16. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F202343051608 I might be thinking of having a cheeky bid, if it weren't the tuners being wrongly arranged.
